I lost a critical part on my last 2aa one.....shame it was 15 years old too , need to buy a new one. The other is a 3-D cell have dropped that so many times its not funny. and its still on the 4th or 5th bulb in 15 years. And it could doble as a leathal weapon in a pinch. It would be hard to make a better one in my mind.

Apparently there is a double mode UV and flashlight available it costs about $200.

I'll try that but one of them is pretty new.

LED conversions for maglites

Check these out:

http://www.luxeonstar.com/sub_category.php?id=178&link_str=178

Conversion kits for standard maglites to LED. I have one of the Terralux AA kits in my mini-maglite and the improvement is quite extraordinary. All the ergonomics of the Mag with none of the stupid bits. The batteries last for ages even with 1.2 volt NiMH rechargables as the LED only actually needs 1.5 volts to run. No fall off in lamp until the bitter end too.

I work in live theatre and the Maglite is a constant companion. It gets serious usage. It has been ultra reliable in the 3 or so months I have had it LEDed, and I have only charged the batteries once (and they weren't even flat..)

Totally recommended.
