Diner food

Food. Yeah, that got your attention.
I haven't been to a diner in a while. The menus have so many choices.
What's your favorite thing to order at a diner?
If this thread isn't too thought provoking, I apologize. I eat at least 3x a day in some way, so I consider it a major part of my life.
There was also no thread dedicated to this great American non-political tradition.

In my opinion, nothing is better from a diner than fries with melted mozzarela and gravy. Not really a meal though. I usually order breakfast if I want a meal. French toast, with the big "challah" bread I think they call it. Diner menus are quite regional. The best thing to order really depends on where you are in the country.

Frito pie, or one of those various massive burgers.

Johnny's Diner, a place that I frequent on every trip to Denver, has the best breakfast burritos that I've ever had.

Oh yeah, there are lots of threads on food, butI was looking for food that is usually found in diners, compared to food in general.
The idea of fries w/ gravy and Mozarella is something that could probably only be ordered in something with a huge variety of food, like a diner.

I am German (American). I was born in Munich. My favorite meal is wiener schnitzel (breaded and fried pork), spatzel (little dunplings), bratkartoffein (fried potatoes), sauerkraut, and brot (dark bread). My favorite bier comes from one brewery (in Munich of course) SPATEN Try their doppelbock, Optimator (deliscious!) http://www.spatenbraeu.de/

I've always found this advice from long distance truck drivers and other "road folks" useful . . . unless you're familiar with the establishment, don't order "the special" and stick to steak and spuds.

For a meal on the cheap end, I love Arby's, especially their "Super" sandwhich.
When we splurge, we go downtown Seattle to 13 Coins and get their peppercorn steak. Good eatin'!

Chili cheese fries (hold the onions)

Fries and Gravy (aka Chips & Gravy)

Pattymelt - lots of grilled onions and cheese on the sourdough please!

Too bad most Dinerfood sticks to you so darn well.
