Went for a ride last nite,,,

Chrysler had a demo at BeaveRun race track last nite and one of the events was to let you ride around the course with a professional driver in a new Crossfire with the supercharged V6. HOLY S**t !!!!!!! What a ride !!! Have never experienced anything like that in my life and I've been on some real rides. That car ripped and impressed the crap out of me. Anyone gets a chance in your area to partake,,,, believe me,,, do it. And the best part was,,,, it was all free.

I'll tell ya,,, that thing smoked !! 330 ponies and I'll bet the weight was comparable if not lower. Gearing would make a difference also.

It is an old SLK AMG with better skin on it. From everything that I have heard the new SLK is a far better handling car and faster to. Did you top it out? I wonder if it has that stupid 155 limiter?

I heard the 155 mph limiter keeps faster cars from being taxed as gas guzzlers.

I thought that was a tire speed rating issue.

My understanding of the 155 limiter is that it stops the German makes from having a top speed war. Also I guess the stock tires just are not up to it.

I see nothing wrong with bringing a high end car up to its top speed, thats what you buy them for. What is the point of buying an AMG anything and riding around a 55mph on the highway?

We have this beautiful intersection near my home,,,, it's on a hill with a half mile grade ahead. Many times I have been at the light at the bottom in one of the Benzes when some person in their every day beater tries to impress me by smoking that old slow Benz. I've had a lot of fun even with the TE smoking them up the hill. The best part is that it doesn't look like your racing going up the hill and doesn't draw a lot of attention.

I wonder what my Honda would do if I had the speed limiter in the ECU removed from programming....It will hit the limiter in 4th gear in short order without really trying, and it still has 5th gear to go.....but alas I will never know...
