TV Repair Help Needed

I have a 36" RCA TV that won't Power up.When you press the remote to turn it on, the set makes a clicking sound 4 times and stays dead. There is only one repair shop in my town and he's a thief who does bad work.

Everything you could ever want to know about TV repair. It even gives answers to certain faults! I have referenced this countless times over the years and never come out empty handed. The only other thing you may need to locate is a schematic, but those are easy to find online just by searching the model of your television.

RCA/Proscan have crappy power supply boards. The fix is a transformer that cost about $3.00.

If your TV is more then 10 years old I would suspect that the tube is getting weak. The fix is to increase the voltage going to the "gun". I don't know much about RCA's but on Sony's there is a pot to increase the voltage to the gun.

If you have electronic experience yo can trace it to the transformer from where the cord socket is soldered to the board its first in line. Speaking of that check the board for cold solder sockets.

If you don't have ellectronic experience don't venture into it, those tubes will whack your ass hard.
