He will do a better job as a journalist than any journalist would as a plumber.

And probably no worse a job as a journalist than the current crop of journalistic giants.

He is not held in any high status by real journeyman plumbers and fitters. Especially by the guys and gals that have slogged their way through the five year apprenticeship or are qualified by other programs. If he knows hot on the left, cold on the right and ***** runs downhill he can be a reporter.

What I know about the relative esteem held by plumbers for this guy equals my knowledge of the esteem held for Bush by team owners and is exceeded only by my lack of concern for either.

We agree concerning his effectiveness as a reporter, given the swirling porcelain pool in which he will swim.
