Doesn't matter if I do. The wife has access to surgical equipment and could probably remove it and have it long gone before I would wake up. Further to that, she would not be squeamish since she deals with blood and gore that she would throw it in a field and let someone recover it if she wanted to.

So what about your father? He hasn't found the way for a man to lose 40 pounds overnight without any pain and suffering nor has he found a way to make a man hung like a horse or found a way to stop women from acting up at that time of the month. What is that surgery compared to those marvels I just mentioned? Cialis has been discovered so those are important surgical procedures. :D :D :D J/K

Maybe he didn't like you calling your brother an idiot because it reflected on him too?

And this is your new definition of normal? Well, then, I'll make a note so I don't forget. Like I said, you can define "normal" any way you like. That's the benefit of statistics. You bend the data to suit your preference.

The fact is that 49.9% of the people are above average intelligence and 49.9% are below it.

Whether anyone agrees with me or not is irrelevant. It's got no bearing on the discussion, but, as usual, you wish to shoot the messenger and run off the topic.

The fact is that 51% (or more) of the people were convinced that John McCain was less suited for the Presidency than GWB. And they were convinced of this by false statement issues countless times by GWB and company. It would not have been difficult to investigate and determine that the statements were false and that the relative merits of any argument by GWB were false, but, the public, in its infinite wisdom, would not, or could not do this.

So, agreement or disagreement with me notwithstanding, the average person who listened to the information presented regarding John McCain is a moron, because he is incapable of separating the truth from the lies.

That made me think of the time we were watching close encounters of the third kind when I was a kid and the TV went staticy for a while. I responded something like "stupid idiots". My father sent me to my room for being disrespectful to people I didn't know.
Ironic here as my dad has written many books that I'm sure many of the liberals here would enjoy. He's a smart man.
I think based on the circumstances here, I'm also proud to be a moron.

What, you just invented yet another fact. Why not 49.999% or 49.9999%? Your definition asymptotically approaches 50% from both sides. C'mon dude, show us your stuff.

Nope he's an orthopedist and takes a hard line on numb nutz. Around our house there's a rule that you treat your fellow man with respect and to serve.

Shooting the messenger, hell. I take you exactly at your word. You define moronic as not agreeing with you. Plain and simple. That's fine with me. That's your definition and I appreciate your tenacious defense of it. I hope that all the so-called liberals of planet Earth adopt your method of political argument.

Hi Bot,

The attitude that government by smart people should be the goal of all Ameicans is what turned off the majority of voters to the democrats.

Who wants to be taked-down-to by a government which believes that the unwashed masses are too stupid to do anything for themselves?
Loosing the last election appears to have been very hard to accept for the smartest people in the room. They really miss their lofty perch and all the perks of office.

They miss it all so much that the sole objective of the entire party is to attack relentlessly until they find a chink in the armor of the other party. If there is not enough bad news happening,
they tend to go back into the archives to find some old news to re-release as if it was fresh.
if that is not working, they spin poll results and ask leading questions to get the "news" they need. Rathergate comes to mind, "Swiftboat Veterans for Kerry". Karl Rove, attacks on the character of all connected to the right are "normal"... Chenney, Condoleeza, and others have all felt the wrath of those who were born-to-rule. Granted, that there are those who really screw up,
such as Mike Brown, but those are the exception.

The attitude is very similar to that of the French, who can not stand the fact that a US bicycle
racer could win the "Tour" seven years in a row. They tried to rain on his parade by digging up some obsure urine test result from 1999 to attempt...
Thankfully, the rules were observed and cooler heads prevailed against the accusations of these sore loosers. (They always were good at loosing and do enjoy the pity.)
Now they can stop referring to the race as the Tour-de-Lance".
They should be able to find something else to feel sad about.

If you say so. Ought to check your reading glasses, however. Seems to be some problems getting the written words through.

There are many people who don't agree with me that I have profound respect. They are clearly not morons and I would not consider them "average".

But, you don't wish to judge anyone and put them all in that same 50th percentile. Everybody is "average" by your eyes.

That's fine with me as well.

Not quite right, but close.

I make no assumptions about the intelligence of others. That would be presumptuous of me and probably inaccurate. Why make assumptions that are unprovable, undoubtedly presumptuous and likely inaccurate? Waste of time.

Instead, I assume two things: That all men are created equal and that they are endowed with certain inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To me, that is good and sufficient reason to accept the only poll that matters, the ballot.

I think they were pissed that a one balled man could beat everyone including them 7 times in a row. However think about it. He was married to Sheryl Crow. I'd be practicing my cycling every day if I had to be married to her.

You misunderstand me.

I fully accept the decision of the voters and wish nothing else but to elect the person that the majority feels is the best candidate for the job. Anything else would be in violation of the principles of this government.

That said, unlike you, I do observe that the average man in the street is easlily manipulated by propaganda and false information. This scenario is often repeated and is relatively easy to prove. Therefore, the best candidate for the job appears to be the one who screams the loudest and has the most ammunition to use against his opponents. The quality of the ammunition is clearly irrelevant.

From this, I conclude that the average person is a moron, however, I have absolutely no desire to see the system reworked to allow the the intelligencia to rule the country by default.

It's presumptions of me, but, it's also accurate.

A Bush speechwriter named David Frum was quickly fired when his wife blurted out (at a gathering) that he had authored the famous words... "Axis of Evil"
People on the left, who screw-up are not taken-to-task as aggressively by their own.

The left-attitude is very similar to that of the French, who can not stand the fact that a US bicycle

Hi Lim,

Do you think that Lance acquired his speed and stamina from chasing Cheryl?
When he caught her, do you think that he poured the ceremonial champagne all over both of them?
