I have been with them since almost day 1. Never have had a problem, they stand behind me on sales. Read the horror stories from other people but don't have any personal ones.

Get your own credit card merchant account, Wells Fargo has the best program I've seen.
http://www.webpaymentsolutions.com/default.asp?ID=10119 I used Total Merchant Services because they gave me a $20,000 per transaction limit opposed to WF's $5000. |

I have never had any probs with PayPal, but proceed with caution. I follow through on ALL my auctions and make sure buyers are happy with every item I sell; thus, I have never had a grievance filed, so I've never had to deal with that mess. Depending on an individual's business practices, YMMV.

I have been using them for a few years with no problem. I did get a new credit card with a fairly low limit that I only use for paypal just in case, but no problems, no complaints.

I have never seen the wind but I know that it exists.
You could spend the rest of your life reading about paypal problems, they exist in overwhelming numbers. Run some searches. For the casual user it is of little concern. Specify payment from a bank account on any transaction large enough to be concerned. Accept no credit card payments for any amount that you are not prepared to lose. http://www.fatwallet.com/c/67/ Try this link for some hardcore paypal and ebay users. |

This is a great resource; thanks for posting! I have already found some great info there (that Staples will apparently package anything for a flat $5 fee!).

I have been using PayPal since they started, I think back in '99 or '00. Back when they actually gave you $10 to join, in addition to $10 for each buddy you got to join. I remember "Scotty" from Star Trek was their pitch person.
Anyway, I have never had any problems at all, after hundreds of transactions. And I have transacted quite a few high-end items like Omega and Rolex watches, expensive computer componentry, and even a couple of cars. But like someone else said earlier, YMMV especially depending on the type of person you are and the types of transactions you tend to conduct. All my transactions - eBay or otherwise - go pretty smoothly, and if anyone's upset or dissatisfied, I go out of my way to resolve the situation amicably. For some people, problems just seem to follow them. You know the type I'm talking about... Just look at the comments on some of those rant sites. Look at the type of language and confrontational attitude often on display. I have surmised that many times the problems occur because: 1) person using PayPal didn't/doesn't fully understand how it works 2) person was hothead and transaction blew up 3) person just plain isn't/wasn't thinking 4) person not willing to yield for any reason whatsoever because they are "right" Just my $.02. BTW, I think use of the word "sucks" is to some degree indicative of the attitude or mentality of the person using it.
