Cheese Steak.

Just in Philly over the weekend and I have a question.

Which do like better and why? (Don't forget the why!)

Geno's or Pat's?

Do they make them differently?

Genos is good,I like how they make it.
The slab of meat of the side and all the toppings on the other side, and the speed of it.There is also another place by Geno's called Jim's thats very good.Personally I thought Jim's was the best.

Best Philly anywhere is at Charley's in the Atlanta Hartsfield airport.....sounds nuts, but I travel alot and try them everywhere.

Heresy!! ;)

I used to always go to Geno's when I lived in the area. Actually, though, I thought the best cheesesteaks I ever had were at a little place in Ocean City, NJ that no longer exists. You could get them with hot peppers and they were actually hot! Man, they were good.

I've never been to this place in Atlanta you're talking about, but in general Philly cheesesteaks are not something to be ordered outside of the general Philly area, in my experience. You never know what you will get.

you might consider checking with a cardiovascular surgeon to find out how soon before he has to split your sternum, pull your ribs outta the way and scrape that philly cheesesteak outta your heart.

Very true. That's the first cheese steak I've had in about 5 years. Although today I'm working late (goddamit!) and didn't go running like I would have like (goddamit!)

Dammit!

:D

I've never had a cheesesteak.. sounds tasty.

Larry Delor 05-24-2006 09:32 PM

I am told that Pat's is better, but no particular reason was given.

Apparently a cheese option is: Cheez Whiz

(White House subs in Atlantic City has the best cheese steaks - provolone only) corner of Arctic and Mississippi Ave's

YOu could make them yourself a lot better than any of those if you like to cook.

It's not rocket science or rebuilding a transmission.

You what I remember from the philly/jersey?

Italian sausage heroes.

Italina bread, fried sausage, grilled onions and peppers, fried potates slices, ketchup, mustard....

Now that's a heart stopper.

Glad I moved or I'd weigh 300 lbs.....:1blank:

I saw how they make those on TV one night. It cured me of ever wanting to eat one of them. I'd rather just eat lard out of a bucket with a spoon.

Waiting for an ellevator in the east end of Pittsburgh today I heard the name 'Jim's' mentioned by a plus sized woman she then went on to tell her co-worker that Geno's was even better... imagine that... never been, myself, though.
