MY Friday, consists of me currently waiting for my class at 2PM to start...I want to go take a shower before class...but ugh....the girls in the room next to me decided to keep their door open with a at least 3 guys in there...and I usually just go to my bathroom with just a towel on...since its a girls floor...but ugh...Anyway, then my class, and then going HOME for the weekend.

Today will be 11 months with my boyfriend! =O () ^_^(:D) I'm so happy! Not sure what we'll be doing though. We got a recipe from a friend for her famous chocolate cookies with chocolate chips! And those sound yummy. We shall definitely make those for dessert. Not sure what we are doing for dinner though @.@ Us poor college students...probably make something at home. Haha. MAYBE we'll go out. Hahaha. NEXT month is the big one. Not sure what to get him!!!! I'm usually awesome with gifts for him...but I can't think of anything this time. Grr. Oh well, I'll figure SOMETHING out.

Congratulations to you and Vickie, CLK Man.

Coincidentially, today is the 19th anniversary of my CABGx5. :o:eek:
For the laymen, that's 5 cardiac artery by-passes. ;)

" This patient had previously undergone cardiac catheterization with the findings of severe osteal obstruction of the left main system. In addition there was complete obstruction of the left anterior descending coronary artery which filled retrograde from a right coronary artery which had a tight proximal lesion. There was diffuse disease with tight lesions in the circumflex system and a separate lesion in the diagonal, over the large conal branch of the left anterior descending which was without apparent disese. Left ventricular function was preserved. These findings were confirmed at surgery".....etc, etc, etc."

This was my surgeon.;)

Holy Moooooly. You are lucky to be alive.

Did you eat bacon and eggs with buttered toast and whole milk for breakfast every morning, or are you just genetically predisposed to plaque build-up in your arteries?

Very happy to hear that, Robert! I hope she's as happy to be home as you... ;)

My plans this evening consisted of preparing for HURRICANE EARL!!!!! and its forecast of fury. However, thanks to the wizards of smart in the meteorological world I'm not sure we're even going to see a drop of rain so I might just have to drink and relax instead. All of the local news stations have every reporter stationed at a beach somewhere in the state, sitting in the drizzle commenting on the lack of waves. But don't let our guards down just yet!

Those same wizards of smart lead to the wizards of smart in our state govt. to shut down the campgrounds at the state parks along the shoreline today at noon through tomorrow morning. We were supposed to spend the days with friends at their camper in Hammonasset Beach State Park tomorrow but they've decided to head north instead. The state will be losing out on a lot of revenue this weekend as campers had to make alternative plans, especially those coming in from out of state.

Sunday will be spent floating in Coventry Lake with an adult beverage in hand with my whole family. I might see if the old knees and back are up for some waterskiing. I haven't gone on a single ski in 10 years. I suppose we'll be eating lots of tasty stuff but that's really secondary.

Monday will probably be spent in the pool for the last go around before shutting it down. The kids' school and activity schedules pretty much make it a done deal and it doesn't take long before the overnight temps. bring the water temp. below comfortable, sober adult levels.

She (my surgeon) told my ex-wife I had what is referred to as the "widow maker" (blockage in a left artery location which is almost always fatal.)

I rarely ate breakfast, smoked like a chimney, ate lots of fast foods, did little exercise and had a hi stress job. Those are enough risk factors. Never had high choleseterol & no prior history of heart problems in the family.

The day I had the stress test in the cardiologist's office is the day I went to the hospital. Friday night of LD weekend. He told me that 1 had at least one maybe more blocked arteries and I should go home and wait by the phone and he would call and get me a room in a hospital. I protested about being in the hospital over the weekend, but I agreed. My business partner drove me up to Christiana because my ex was at the beach with the girls and there was no way to reach her (pre cell days!). I laid around all weekend talking to a staff cardiologist about angioplasty and whether I'd miss a lot of work.
Then Tuesday, the first team comes back from the beach, I go to the cath lab first one down the chute and get the bad news that surgery is the only option. Literally, the next thing I knew, I woke up Wednesday with more tubes & hoses sticking in me than I could count.

About a year later, the same mobile stress team comes back to the Dr's office and gives me a stress test. "Oh, we remember you!" You were the worst we ever saw. And we've done a LOT of stress tests.":eek:

Yeah, I'm lucky. My toes were dangling over the edge and I was staring into the abyss. Life is indeed good.:)

I can't believe it's still getting the hype here. Although now all of the meteorologists are in CYA mode.

I know it's not an exact science, but times like this are precisely why people ignore the warnings when they come.

Mom arrives today for a ten day stay. Does anyone have place for me to stay the next ten days? I don't eat much. In fact, I'll even do the cooking.
