Tonight is shaping up to be a laze about the house with a hawt red head sort of night. Oh darn :P. Got a frost warning for tonight, and we're trying (mostly on principle at this point) to sneak in a second batch of squash since the $#(%$*#)*$&#&#(@)#*$% stink bugs destroyed the first round. Means half an hour of dropping tarps over the boxes where the delicata and butternuts are trying to do their thing. Also covered some of the remaining tomato plants, thinking we're going to try and winter over a couple plants in the office. Moved all the citrus inside, plus the avocado plant, and the assorted house plant sort of things that had been living on the porch. Darling Wife hath decreed that it is time for exercise (been doing DDR on the Wii we snagged for stupid cheap off craigslist). Which means I have to go sit back and watch her dance her arse off for half an hour. Oh darn, Version 2.0 :D |
It's been a l-o-n-g week back at work.
This http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...e/photo-49.jpg + a couple new episodes of Swamp Loggers to unwind. Ahhhhh... |
Nice beer mug!

(Actually they were all sterilized and on the counter ready for canning and, well, I'm lazy. :) ) |
Swamp has too much class to drink out of the bottle . . . .
I'm sitting here having a Dark & Stormy. Anybody out there drink those? Gosling's Dark Rum and ginger ale. |
Just got back last night after spending 4 of the last 5 weeks in Southern Kalifornia. Good to be back to civilization. :D

Woohoo! It's Fry-Dee again. More work on mi casa this weekend. I'm pumped, though. I can really see some progress now. Hopefully, I'll get my marble fireplace heath put in and finish hooking up the speakers all over the house. I've got most of my interior doors replaced and most of the door and window casing done.
I'm ready to go into hibernation soon . . . |
I get to work an 18 hour day tomorrow to help out with a redesign/release of the business application that I support. Gonna suck tomorrow but the OT paycheck will be pretty sweet!

Sigh. Afternoon and early evening of dealing with an avalanche of un-tended to Ed stuff, and figuring out what to cook for me for tonight and tomorrow. I'm in the middle of an 'allergy elimination' diet - no meat (easy), no fish (not so hard), no wheat, no eggs, no cow's milk (or cheese or butter), no soy (primary protein source), no nuts.
Fortunately Darling Wife is one hell of a cook, is crazy creative, and loves a challenge. She's been making bread that meets all the above restrictions - and is KILLER good! Tomorrow we head down to the eastern shore to see what we can do to help a very sweet way the hell in over her head lady who is running a rescue. Contractor bailed in the middle of getting kennels done on the house she's in the middle of buying, bank wants it done or foreclosed on. Know only that there is some half done stuff, some broken stuff, debris everywhere, limited funds, and limited money. So we're gonna grab some tools and some music and go see how much damage we can do. Sunday - will either be collapse in a heap, take Ed up to PA again to see his dying former fiance, and/or go see Tony (an old friend of Darling Wife's) in a show down in Baltimore. Wonder if she'd be ok if I shared the photo of her on Tony's CD cover back from when she was sixteen? Skin the color of alabaster, screaming red lipstick, crazy red hair and lashed to a cross. Wearing cheesecloth. Is quite the artistic shot, in my humble opinion :D. |
Mornin' folks...
Hittin' the bank in a few hours, cashing the expense check I got yesterday...for about 2.5 months of "free credit" to the company...a little over $880! And, I found two other receipts I'll have to wait 2 more weeks for reimbursement that total over $250... Not being married anymore certainly doesn't have me panicking about the end of month being more than a week away like it used to!! Hell...two weeks and I'm even looking forward to paying the car insurance premium within a day or two after getting the first notice...how strange is that???? Still waiting on a few generator bids for my two transmitter sites and the studio site...hopefully, they'll all be in before Tuesday next week. Then it will be a matter of the Corp. Office signing off on them and getting the work started before the Office decides to change its mind... It's happened before... Deer hunters will be the order of the day for this weekend...and DA drivers from Milwaukee/Chicago/Whereever that will be clogging the woods and local watering-holes with stories that would make a fisherman blush 'cause they were told outdoors and in public...in mixed company. I can't tell which is worse...a deer hunter or fisherman telling their tales...even GOD would have a hard time making gravity work after listening to how some of these guys tell their stories about how "...that buck was over 250 yards, downwind, from me and I had just finished climbing back into my tree stand that was swaying in a 45mph gusting breeze...I took aim through my iron sites and with my bandaged right hand, that I burned last night from spilt bacon grease, I squeezed off a round that hit him right smack on the left, decending artery...and he dropped right there...didn't even wince..." ( Isn't this the time of the year that the New Berlin Liars' Club holds their annual "Biggest Liar Contest?" ) Have fun this weekend kiddies and don't forget your "blaze orange" for safety's sake!!! |
I'm heading into another weekend of working on my house. I'm trying to get everything I can done before it is too cold to work outside. I will be glad when I finally reach that point at which I can just goof off on the weekends. I hope I can still remember how to do that . . .
|
I get to spend the weekend probably painting a dining room table set black and attempting to fix busted plastering on our two porch pillars. Hope I can fit a hike in with my wife sometime as well. We really need to get out of the house more and in Phoenix, winter is the time to do that.

Yesterday I was doing some bodywork on my CD while waiting for a friend to arrive. Once he got to my place, I changed his front wheel bearings which were grooved and burned.
While I was knocking out the races, I started feeling a twinge in the right forearm near the elbow. It got progressively worse as I wrapped up the job. Today I couldn't even use that arm to brush my teeth.:( I'll give it a few days before I call the doctor. Good thing I finished my first round of P90X last week. I hope this injury won't keep me from starting round two on the 29th. |
