At least some part of the weekend will be spend getting the house more Ed-friendly. Looking like a possible Monday ejection from rehab.

Tonight? NOTHING! :w00t:

Well...besides pizza, beer, my couch and some mindless television. :D

Tomorrow, hectic-ness resumes. Son#2 has a Special Olympics basketball tournament in New Haven tomorrow morning, so his and my schedule is far less complicated than the Mrs.' and sons#1&3 and DD. :P

Best of luck on Monday, Jim!

^ Nice! Sounds like a nice laid back evening.

I'm writing my thesis prospectus all weekend. I've got about 8 pages now, maybe about 20 to go. Have a good idea of where to take it but its just a ton of work. So I'm camping in this weekend, maybe stretching out a bottle of wine out while I do my reading/writing

my fun LONG weekend starts this afternoon

I pick up Daughter #2 at the after school care provider. I have her until Tuesday morning's dropoff. We usually have a lot of fun every other weekend.

Tonight, we will probably attend the high school football game to see Daughter #1 do the flag moves during the half time.
Saturday, we might do Pumpkin painting.
On Sunday, maybe the Corn Maze.

And I'm sure I will have my Traegar fired up over the weekend.

I can't even begin to imagine coming up with the words to fill 25+ pages. Probably can't get away with my old JHS/HS trick of double spacing and 2" margins on either side, huh? :)

Good luck, hope that wine gets your mind flowing!

Got a reprieve of sorts. At the Team Meeting today consensus was that Ed is capable of much.... walking, moving from wheel chair to bed, getting on & off the toilet, feeding himself, climbing AN ENTIRE FLIGHT OF STAIRS, dressing himself, etc....... but he's only able to do these things sometimes.

Left neglect is better, but not resolved. Sometimes, it is obvious that the desire/will/want to stand up, walk, talk, etc. is there.... but the signals between brain and required muscles fail.

Wednesday evening I had the most intense, detailed, complex conversation with Ed. Just the two of us, alone in his room, bouncing all over the place. Thursday evening, I get blank stares and weak hand gestures. Today, he talks in a voice I can barely hear about "busting outta this joint" but can't move from chair to toilet without two nurses helping.

So I bring home two bags full of soiled clothes, fire up the sanitary cycle on the washing machine, and sit here wondering just how this is gonna play out.

My condolences, did that for two years with only a day nurse. So hang in there. Try to get some one to spell you for a day or two or you could go nuts like me.

Think I'll stay here and "work from home" today . . . Maybe I'll do some of my Saturday errands today.

Or maybe I'll just goof off, as I feel inclined to do . . . I hope everybody here has a great Friday and a terrific weekend.

Kids' Halloween party at school for a couple hours tonight followed by a couple cold ones and some Ice Road Truckers and Duck Dynasty on the DVR to decompress.

Work tomorrow morning until noon, DD has a championship hoops game at 2 then probably home to prepare for the worstest [sic] storm ever on the face of the earth. At least that's what it sounds like if you listen to the foreguessers.

Sunday is a family party for my DD's 13th birthday. Pizza, beer, cake, football and family. Couldn't ask for much more!

Well, just coming off a week (felt like a year) of a throat that felt like I had swallowed a piece of deep-fried, road-kilt porcupine, dipped in a sushi-style sauce of jellyfish tenticles...a55-backwards...

I'm not doing too bad.

I turned down a Security-gig in Madtown (Freak-Fest) tomorrow due to a consultant coming into town for the weekend...(work). Somehow, Divine Providence must be looking over me 'cause the weather forecast wasn't looking too good (close to 32° with wind and rain/sleet/snow as an additional factor). When you're comfortable, drunks are humorous. When you're wet and you feel like you're in a wet sack with wet cats, drunks will be/are the tipping point. I'm choosing the "I'm not there" option.

I may head out and check out some parties at the local watering-holes in either La Crosse or Eau Claire...it just depends on where the consultant and I have to be during the day.

Otherwise, Sunday will be a matter of waking up sometime before noon, getting a beer and settling back to watch the Packers. I don't bet on/for/against them. I just hold my chest until the final seconds tick off the clock. They're probably my number one reason I'm still alive and moving my fat-a55 on this planet...they always seem to bring me up to the edge of a heart-attack...then I manage to settle down enough to know and remember that it's only a game.

But, I do manage to get the movement of the colesterol further towards the liver/kidneys and not stuck on the arteries.

Therefore, I should be able to write next week.

See you all on the other side of Halloween!

Have a great weekend guys!!

Its homecoming weekend at my alma mater so it will be a fun one. Got a 4-pack of Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron in case the hurricane gets a bit too vicious, and some of my favorite wine on hand.

Ed's home. Major nasty weather incoming. Gutters to clear, mass quantities of food to create/ puree, freezer shelves to create.

Ever spent 20 minutes manning the wheelchair while someone tries to pee in the grocery store restroom? That's how my Friday evening started. It's all uphill from here :)

SUCCESS.

Finally killed that SOB raccoon that has been walking all over the cars for the past six months.

Put out a concoction of "Golden Malrin" and Coke and the SOB drank it all down. It was his last drink.

The 20 lb. critter was laying about 15 feet from the bowl............stone dead!!

Nice stuff.:D
