Okay, Swamp, I've added you to the list.

. . . .

I'm planning to go see them for the first time ever on Sunday. I've only lived here for 25 years. I thought it was about time . . .

Do you know if the FM transmitter sends the signal from the unit or the antenna? The one in my wife's van always has some background noise and it's mounted up on the windshield with the antenna back in front of the tailgate. If it transmits through the Sirius antenna I could move it further forward closer to the radio one.

I have the one in the Lincoln hard-wired directly to the antenna. It works pretty well. I used to get interference before I did that.

It's 71 here right now, headed for about 85 later this afternoon. The Bradford Pears have bloomed and are going green now and my Cherry trees have started to bud.

Wasn't it just Tuesday, YESTERDAY?! Where did this week go? Oh well, I'm just glad to be a few hours away from the weekend again. Woohoo!

The Cherry Blossoms were fabulous last Sunday. I've got nothing much on the menu for this weekend except recovery from this week. What about you?

cscmc1 04-04-2008 09:26 AM

This week WAS fast! I am going to pick up my new (to me) 92 300D tonight and proceeding to Springfield, IL for the Lincoln Half Marathon tomorrow morning. After that, I have three days of Air National Guard drill near St Louis. I'll take the 300D and play with it while I'm down there... I can pull the cc amp and try to fix it while I sit in my hotel room during the evening.

Dee8go 04-04-2008 09:29 AM

Multi-tasking, eh?

Good luck with your half marathon. I used to run in the one they have every year in Louisville, KY in the week prior to the Derby. That was enough to dissuade me from ever wanting to run in a full marathon.

Good to hear you finally got to see the cherry blossoms after all these years! It's definitely on my list of stuff to do someday.

I've been flooded, semi-literally and figuratively. I really need about 3 more days this week. The only thing saving me from being buried is that it's still been so cool otherwise the walk-up traffic would be the tipping point. It's frikkin' 40's and rainy again today and supposed to continue through tomorrow AM.

My wife and daughter have a Girl Scout sleepover at Mystic Aquarium tonight, in the shadows of the shark tank, so it'll just be me and the boys. We might have to go wreak havoc on Friendly's or the 99 for dinner before renting a flick. The little guy is only semi-weaned so I'm not exactly looking forward to the sleeping hours. He'd be tremendously disappointed as well.

Tomorrow was supposed to be an off day for me but I've just go so much stuff to go through I may pop in for an hour or two after the intrepid Scouts get back from their adventure.

Then the Mrs. and I have a date! Some friends whose kids attend a Catholic school a town over have their school's dinner/auction fundraiser. It's strikes me as odd to see the alcohol flowing at a school fundraiser but I'm sure it brings those bid amounts up!:D My favorite microbrew happens to be in that same town so they have the kegs lined up. I'll probably overbid on another VT weekend-getaway. We went on one a couple years ago at the Inn at Essex in Essex Junction which is a training facility for the New England Culinary Institute and the service and food were exceptional.

Sounds like you'll need to take Monday off to recover from your weekend! I hope it's fun and relaxing.

I do the half marathons now because the fulls kicked my butt every time, and my knees are wrecked. I never trained properly for them. Dumb! This one will kick my butt, too. I have been sick as a dog off and on for the past 6 weeks or so and haven't run more than 7 miles since January. Not good!

Dee8go 04-04-2008 10:16 AM

No pain, no gain? Good luck.

We used to go watch the Turkey Day 5K and drink beers. That was enough to dissuade me from ever wanting to run.:)

Ah, but you can get BLASTED (essentially guilt-free) on a few beers after you've run 12 or 14 miles that morning!

Even a couple of the free post-race beers will give me a good buzz after a full marathon.
