Thats awesome. Would you ever consider doing a retrace of the steps?

So far, the best one I have been on has been the one where I went back to the P for the first time. (philippines.) I saw all of the extended family I had never met, and found out my family is heavily involved in the phillippine mafia.

I haven't been back for a few years now. There are some serious problems with the government, and corruption. We are planning a trip to go back to the P, but its going to be in a year or two. We are letting things cool back down again to go back.

Been on cruises to the Virgin Islands, spent weeks in the Finger Lakes in NY, cruised up and down the Delmarva coast, been to Williamsburg, Bush Gardens etc but without a doubt the best one was travelling the Black Hills of SD, going thru Roosevelt Natl Park, Custer's house, Devils Tower and on and on all on the seat of my '03 Custom Softail and YEP, leaving next week to do it all again. Oh yea, its Bike Week in Sturgis.

My favorite was in Michigan. My wife and I rented a very small cabin on Bert Lake that is located about ten minutes from Mackinaw City. The entire area is peaceful, peaceful, and more peaceful. My wife and I spent time at Bert Lake, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, and Sault Staint Marie. While at Sault Staint Marie we went on an informal, but rather nice dinner cruise that travels through the US and Canadian locks. If you travel at night take a lot of windshield washer fluid; the special bug type because the bugs at night in the summer become quickly become a layer of a paste like mess on the windshield

I would like to retire in this area, but my wife likes it much further south.......as in Mexico.

While living in Japan, my wife and I rented a VW Jetta, and took two weeks driving around the Chiba peninsula and in the mountains in Gunma Prefecture.

We stayed in old, traditional Japanese Inns (ryokan), sleeping on tatami mats on futons.

We dug up clams on the beach, and cooked them on charcoal grills set up along the beach. We swam in the ocean, but only briefly. The water was rough, freezing cold, and full of squid, which stung us both.

In the mountains of Gunma Prefecture, we stayed at Kusatsu Onsen. Kusatsu is a town famous for its "onsen" or hot spring baths. We stayed at a place called "Ootaki no Yu". Here is a link:

We also had sex like rabbits. The whole time.

You can camp in my driveway because all of Michigan is like that, because everybody packed up and left.
