looks like I'm being given another boat
 

I'm supposed to pick up a Com-Pac 16 sailboat tomorrow, good condition, good trailer, needs a new mast. The boat is out of production but the manufacturer is around so I guess I'll call them and try to locate a mast. Haven't shared this news tidbit with my wife yet, I wonder what she's going to say?!

You can never have to many boats. If you can't find a mast there is a local company that makes tons of them. Let me know if you want the contact info, but shipping is going to be amazing!:eek: :D

Thanks Hatterasguy...I'm going to look around locally first. I told her tonight, and she's very enthused! The accumulated cars bore her to tears, but she likes boats.

Try the marine liquidator sites operating on the Gulf Coast. Compac 16 was probably the most popular day sailor ever built. I have seen whole rigs for $900, so you ought to be able to get a mast for a song from a damaged boat. Check this out:
