...Not to mention The Buckinghams and the New Colony Six. A great era for Chicago rock, and CTA was the most ambitious of the bunch. I was a teenager when they first made their mark -- I'm thinking about the spring of 1969. A great time to be young.

i still love them.

i saw them in concert at the dirt track in indianapolis fairgrounds in 1975. good show.

in 1966 i went to a concert at the coloseum at the fairgrounds and saw gary lewis and the playboys, the yardbirds, sam the sham and the pharohs and bobby hebb all in one concert. if i went, it must have cost less than $10 to get in. those all were groups that were getting regular air time on the stations back then.

the price of concerts have gone up considerably since then!

I'm pretty sure I attended some concerts in the '60's. I probably had a great time.

One of the guys that used to play with SamtheSham lives around here - he still gets a bunch of guys together and jams on the weekends.
As far as other 60's bands goes, I saw the Monkees, Grass Roots, and Hermans Hermits, at a 3 for 1 concert about 20some years ago. Good show.

(Still haven't seen the Stones)

I'm a HUGE Chicago fan!! They've been my all-time favorite classic rock band since I first heard their music on my older brother's record player in the 70's. I've had the pleasure of seeing them in concert twice, but not since the 80's.

I have all their "old" stuff and listen to it often. Unfortunately, they lost their unique sound when they switched producers in the 80's and opted for a more mainstream sound. Anyone heard anything out of them recently?

The last CD I got of them was a joke gift my brother-in-law bought me a couple years ago. It was Chicago's Christmas album. Ugh.

That is one of the strangest albums for it's time. Folks, this is what happens when a guitarist is actually an extrerrestrial.

Sorry folks, got side tracked ... and Goodman still fiddled the hell out of it...It's time? ... is yet to come, for it will ever be strange...

...help me out here, I couldn't find a definition for "extrerrestrial" in the dictionary...hmmm, I didn't look in the enzyclopedia for "out of this world guitar players" ....or,

... should have asked which version of "25 or 6 to 4" you like better ....

Movin' on...

I've always liked rock bands that incorporated a violin (I thought about stealing an Amazon jpg of the first It's a Beautiful Day album...imagine album cover here...)

My favorite violin act from the last quarter century is The Mekons. Check 'em out. They are brilliant.

I'm a cello/DB person.

"Eleanor Rigby" (beatles) is one of my all-time favorite songs.
