Why is my fridge leaking?

Every once in awhile, the fridge leaks water from the vent that comes down from the freezer. I've tried changing the temps but it doesn't seem to care. It still leaks.

Heck just call me the man from Atlantis man. The roof, now this.

Are you talking the drip tube that comes down into the main compartment? It's most likely the defrost at work. Frost builds up on the coils. Defrost heater turns on and melts the frost, water drips out of the freezer thru the main compartment and into a drip pan underneath the fridge where it evaporates.

I would have said that, but figured you meant it was leaking somewhere else that it wasn't supposed to be leaking.

Besides, "incontinence," sounder much funnier when I thought about it, so I went with that.

Most likely the thing is defrosting. If there's water getting onto the floor, the tray might be full.

Maybe too much humidity in the air for the current freezer settings? Could also be a clogged pipe. If ice builds up on the water evac route, it leaks. You need to make sure that water can escape to the lower tray, where it evaporates.

If your fridge is German-manufactured, then it's normal...all German-made stuff leaks...

As an aside, from what I understand, Germans use propane as a coolant in their refrigerators.

So it's supposed to drip? I gotta figure out what's up with the drip tray then. This fridge came with the house.

It's dripping today? As you know, humidity is nothing like it was yesterday.
