Are there any sign makers here?

I am working on a project and need 50 adhesive vinyl stars about 8" big. These will be on an automobile and will need to be able to stand up to sun/rain/etc.

My work schedule makes it difficult for me to go to a local place.

Any advice appreciated.

Thorsen:

Our stations' van was decked out in what I would call "auto-vinyl" - much like what you're looking for. The company that did the job mentioned that they use a special type of vinyl that does exactly what you're looking for...it resists heat and UV, stays where it's stuck and resists "peeling/curling" when it ages...

It's not cheap...but, I bet you can call a sign shop and have them make you 50 stars in the shape/size you'd like...and if you're a good negotiator, you might be able to meet the shop foreman/owner after hours for the price of a few beers...I'm sure you'd get what you'd need then...

One thing though...if you're in the Chicago area, look around at what you'd consider good artwork on vehicles...more than likely, you're seeing vinyl overlays on those vehicles...some are actually covering city buses and the like! See which firms have the best graphics and "staying power" (graphics don't look like chit after a few months...), then call only them...

Also, pay attention to the care that you have to be aware of...no automatic car washes and be aware of the "wave-a-wand" style...the PSI from the spray handles can tear the vinyl right off the car and even chip/flake paint...hand washing and a light rinse is the best...

Good luck.
