new 320cdi chrysler 300

I read a road test of the above noted car in the local paper this morning. They did a driving test and evaluation with no acceleration tests or such. They said they got 40 mpg hiway with it. That is just fabulous in a big car like the chrysler, though I got about 30 in my rental with the 2.7 gasser a couple of years back when we went out west.

Unfortunately they said that it is a non production that is out there for evaluation and the production of it is uncertain given the present status of chrysler having new owners and such.

Nah, that would make too much sense. They only want to offering up the ugly ill-conceived vehicles we have come to expect.

I don't think it will make it over here--24" spinners and bently grills just seem out of place on a diesel.

I used to like the 300, but know they're unappealing. I've driven a few with 80k+ miles and they feel like cars with 200k miles. Junky.

I thought the same and then I noticed something on the 300 that I have seen on several other American cars. Open the trunk or hood and you see unpainted primer in the corners and along edges. Stuff like that burns my retinas. Its like seeing a beautiful model with hairy armpits.

Maybe a lil bit. But a tangled mop is not appealing to me. I don't know why, I guess its just what you're used to.

In europe hair in the armpits is pretty normal.

Some of the ladies look pretty good that way.

Why now? MB is divesting itself of Chrysler. Will they continue to provide engines, technology, etc to Cerburus?

Hopefully not, as DB's decline in the quality of these components undoubtedly contributed to the decline of Chrysler. In terms of daily reliability, I would prefer a well-preserved K-Car over a new S-Class.
