There are a couple of customers in our database that have the last name "Mercedes". I have never known anyone/seen anyone around here with that last name until I saw those two in the database.

I am wondering just how popular that last name is around the states?

BTW - I did work with a girl whose actual FIRST name was "Mercedes". They called her "Sadie" for short, but I called her "Mercedes".

I have never seen it as a last name, but as a first it pops up once in awhile.

There was an nice article in the last issue of "STAR MAGAZINE" about a little girl named Mercedes who happened to be at the opening of the MB museum in Germany. When the MB execs found what her name was, they made her grand marshall of the parade and even bought her a locket to remember the day by. Very cool! There were articles about other females named Mercedes as well, staring with the girl our cars are all named after.

I have never seen it as a last name...
