Yes, I collect both of those. I also have a wide variety of "Unpaid Bills". Many of which I have not paid, simply by choice, and for no other reason..

I have a glass jar, of which I "Break-Wind" into, as often as I can. The collection has grown rather large, and I've moved it to bigger jars, on several occasions over the past 15 years.

I Ebayed, my last collection, and got top dollar for it, from a natural Gas supply company, in Europe. I aim to get bigger money for this collection though, because the price of "Gas" has gone up so much in the past few years.

I once had a smaller collection, but when I was moving, I dropped the jar in the driveway, and it broke. My contribution to the environment. The smell was terrible, and I watched the clouds part, as it made it's way into the OZONE layer and hastilly burned a hole, clean through it...

LOL, Trucky

Corgi? Matchbox? Keep the boxes?

I have a dozen or so Corgi cars from the late 1970's. Didn't keep the boxes though-- then they'd be worth somethin'.

I had over 10 thousand albums (remember those big round black things that went out with the 80's?) I sold them when the remote croaked on the TV. Bought a new remote that came with a new TV. Cool you have Z50's! I have a '72 Z50 with a '69 CT 70 engine swapped onto it... It's beat to hell because I've had it for 30 years! Took it out the other day to goof with it and got it running but I didn't notice the fuel pouring from the carbuerator. The thing back fired and erupted into flames right there between my legs! After I put it out, I found the fuel leak, fixed it and she fired right back up, burned and all. I should really restore that puppy.

Back on topic, over the years I've collected Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. You guys are going to think I'm a big puss but I also collect miniature ceramic and otherwise breakable horses...:o

Used to collect antique tractors and gas engines, but sold it all when I moved. Now I'm starting my antique clock collection. Easier to collect, and keeps the neighbors happy:D

Lawson1923 01-01-2008 07:52 PM

Old tin toys, old stained glass windows, still have my Hot Wheels too. I have a bunch of old boxing magazines that came with my first house that I would like to sell. Some are from the 30's up thru the early 90's. Along with various SI years as well.

Lawson1923 01-01-2008 07:54 PM

Oh yeah, I used to be a tractor jockey also! I only have one left that is for sale, '48 Allis Chalmers B, good metal, fires up right away, only 900.00.

Dee8go 01-01-2008 08:12 PM

I was collecting Swiss watches for a number of years. Now I'm going broke trying to keep them all running. They're nearly as expensive to maintain as MB's.

Too bad I gave up the hobby, reluctantly. The "B" is a nice size:cool:

I used to restore old Farmall tractors. Mainly pre 50's Cubs.

We still have a ’47 and a ’49.

Woods 42” mower on one. 8 original and restored drawbar implements (plows, seeder, sickle mower, log saw…..) for the other.

Then I got a little carried away, and DJ said I needed to find a new hobby before someone got hurt.

whatever I can pull from the shelves at the stores..

When I lived in CT my bestfriends dad collected toys and he taught me how to collect them..

all of my stuff is in the box.. I should buy two or more of each.. but. I'm a college kid and.. its not that much of a priority.. just like a reward every now and then..

My dads father collects

German Cuckoo clocks (all from the father land)
Beer Steins
Spoons
books
wood working stuff

He said he is leaving them all to .. meeeee... I love his clocks...

he also has a nice collection of post war Rolexes he bought while in West Germany in '46

He gave me one as well as a nice hamilton... I sometimes wear my Rolex to work just to blow customers minds..

Last time I wore it some lady was giving me guff about how minimum wage workers are stupid and etc.. I flash my Rolex and tell her I have a Mercedes in the parking lot with a big trunk and she shut up...:):)

Yes, "Sickle Mowers", can be dangerous with an angry wife at the helm... :D

She runs you over with that thing and....Well, use your imagination..But it wouldn't be good. Especially for your sex life..:D

For sure – I’ve seen some folks loose fingers just lifting (folding) sickle mowers up. A mistake they only do once, for sure. Not something you want kids around either.

Actually – With regard to the “…new hobby before someone got hurt…” comment - I was referring to the Bell/Farmall Cub in the picture. :D

I'm kind of surprised that I really don't collect anything, other than a few coins here and there; since my mom seems to collect one or more of everything. Once a month, I have to tell her "No" to putting some of her stuff in my house. As it is, I already have a late 40's Philco fridge in my spare bedroom, because she has no place to put it.
Can't find a pic - but here is an ad of the same fridge.

Hatterasguy 01-02-2008 01:21 AM

Other than Mercedes, which since I am down to one I can't really claim to collect anymore...:D

Mercedes parts, I have the better part of a W126 in the basement.

Fishing gear, I have quite a few vintage rods and reels, mostly spinning. I love the Penn Green series reels, because I still use them! :D I also have a pretty good collection of vintage lures, actualy my fresh water tackle box is probably 1/2 made up of 30-50 year old top water lures. I find the older hand carved ones to be the most affective at getting bass out from under a dock. Plastic lures just don't have the same action. My go to lure was made right after WW2. I also enjoy collecting very, very expensive fly rods. Mostly from Orivs, and when I graduate from school I'm getting myself a Van Staal spinning real as a present.

Books, I love books, I'm slowly but surely building a personal library. As for topics it varies.

Also I have a decent and growing collection of anime DVD's and books FMA box set 1-51+movie and extra stuff is being added soon. Possible some IY, Bleach, and Code Geass as well

I'd like start collecting WW2 vintage weapons, after shooting my grandfathers carbine I am hooked. I find it really cool to actualy be able to shoot a gun that I have seen on say Band of Brothers so many times.

I also want to start collecting real estate ASAP. Working hard on that every freaken day.

rickg 01-02-2008 02:07 AM

I had a backyard of early 80's Audi Coupe GT's for a while too. Fun and unique cars, if ya like fixing electrical issues:D

Really?
I have two 1960's era "Amano" side by sides, in my basement. Still keeping steaks and other things cold. Got one from Grandparents, and one from Aunt. They still work great, look great, and from what my grandfather told me, the one I got from him, has never even had a problem, or needed to be fixed. The one my Aunt gave me, is identical twin, bought at the same SEARS store, and has only had one service call by SEARS appliance service, for some sort of "Condenser" in about 1975.

They don't make them like they used to.:D

I've never considered my stocks, and bonds to be something I "Collect". Since you mentioned it however, I suppose I can call them a "collection" of sorts.

Just never even occured to me.... I also just remembered, I collect Money. Both American currency, and foreign, and especially, other peoples money. For financial, and entertainment/lifestyle reasons...LOL:D

I have a small metal Fordson like yours. My dad used to tell about plowing with one as a kid. He said that grandpa liked them because of the big fenders which would keep them from flipping over the back. Where are your fenders?

Nice, looks like it could work but you'll probably need more than the 20 or so PTO HP to turn those blades! :)

So, does anyone here collect any type of antique furniture..? How about, old Sterling silverware..? Haven't seen either one of them listed here yet. I don't, but I really have no interest in either on of them myself. Just that I know a lot of people who do.
