Did Your Car Pass Inspection and Emmissions
I was waondering how many cars pass on the first try? My SL passed and I have to take the SEL in this week sometime for both emissions and regular inspection. Let us know what creative things you have done to get them to pass. i was told for emissions to pass to "run the piss out of it with a can of BG44 in it and make sure its good and hot. This is for the state of Virginia.

The SEC passed emissions with flying colors. The safety inspection was another matter, but all is wwell as of today!

I don't want to bore you to tears.
The same guy who welded the floor back in Max cut my resonators out of the SEC and welded straight pipe from the catalytic converter to the pipe going onto the muffler. Midas wanted $3000.00 to replace the muffler! I looked in the rear view mirror to see if I had inadvertantly written "Stupid" on my forehead that day.

Mistress and Dee8go,
With good fuel and air filters, unclogged cats, clean spark plugs (NGK are best), decent plug wires, the 560 cars burn extremely clean, and almost always breeze through the smog tests on the first try. Likely the same with the 420 engine, too. It does help to roll in with the engine warm, having been driven 30 minutes on the highway, though

I drove mine like a wildman for half an hour before I got the emissions. The inspector said mu car was as clean as a new car.
I guess that works . . .

It should sound throaty without the resonators... I rode in a 500SEL with just its cats and rear muffler.....
I thought a mustang was following us around. Dee, can you post video?

I was trying to determine if there was some way to put a couple of lowBP mufflers where the resonators were and then run a pipe out on either side. If I could have, I'd have welded a pair of chrome dual tips onto either pipe. Hoowee! That would be pimppin'!
There was a sweet-looking S600 there while I was getting mine fixed.
