i see a E55 in my future

I just made a big commission this month and once my tax return cash comes in im going to get myself a E55

There is a 99' silver/with 2-tone blue/black interior and a 00' silver/with 2-tone black/white interior.

Both are priced at $14K, i like the styling of the 2000 E55 vs. the 99.

Any pro's and con's between the 2 years?

Funny, I've been seeing E55's also, with prices about what yours are.

What is the mileage on the 2 you mention?

The ones here are '01 with 84K (for $16K from used car dealer) and '99 with 107K (for $14K negotiable private owner). I'm probably going to pass on both.

Keep in mind that '99 was first model year with a little shakiness that might produce.

E55 only came out in silver or black (opal)

Get a W124 E500/500E in the color you want, they are cult cars, and IMO much better in many ways.

That was the original plan you had anyway.

They are not better. They are several years older and actually cost more in decent condition. NFW would I touch a 500E for $14K, but $14K can buy a pretty nice E55.

An E55 is so tempting!

500E's are to expensive, you will drop $20k on a good one, not to mention they are older. For a daily ride get the newer car. I'd feel kind of bad taking a super mint 500E and racking up 20k miles a year in it, in snow, slush, mud, etc.

Exactly. A 500E is a collector car by this point. An E55 you can drive the snot out of it every day and not feel bad.

I am likewise extremely tempted by some of the E55 deals out there right now.

Heck, all W210s are an incredible value on the used market!

exactly, the cheapest 500 i found was $14K but it needed work. And if i got the car it would be a garage queen. The 55 would be a combined daily driver along with the bike. Plus id really like to save up for a mint condition signal rot red 500E oooooooooooooooo that would be SHWEET!!!

I don't know I have no desire to spend that kind of money on a 500E, which at that point would be a toy car. I'd stretch a bit more and get a Ferrari 308, or Honda NSX.

The Ferrari would be a lot more fun to drive, more so with a Tubi exhuast.

The problem with the 500E is that it has 4 doors, an auto trans, weighs a lot, and has seating for 4.

So tempting. What is the sticker $30k?

Nah I'll never finance a car unless I'm not paying for it. I was looking at leasing a 325I but they want like $18k out of you over 3 years. To much money. I'd buy an $18k 325I and drive it for 5-7 years before doing that, its cheaper and I can still write a lot of it off.
