135 hp on them? Couldn't out run a rickshaw.

Where did I put my 8 track tape player?

ah, there it is.....lights cigarette.......takes long drag.....slow exhale.....

I suppose you have to be a die hard Delorean fan, to feel that it's a good idea. I personally never really liked them very much. I only actually liked the ones with the Chevy 350 and 400 small blocks in them. There was a limited number of these, and the cars actually moved very well with those engines in them. Aside from that, I never had a use for the cars...

Stainless steel is bringing in as much as $2.00 a pound at scrap yards these days in my area though..

A friend's Dad had one when we were in high school. We cruised the strip dozens of times and it often overheated. The car was well liked until the DeLorean coke scandal, then people pointed and laughed.

They were slow (my buddy could blow it away in his Olds wagon) but very comfortable.

A friend of mine had an Eagle Premier with that engine in it. It wasn't anything special one way or another as I recall.

I always loved the look of the Delorean, but it was actually a hodge podge of compnents from other production cars and trucks as I understand it. The SS body made it too heavy and the engine was under-powered.

Still, they did look pretty sweet!

Questions for the new DMC dealer:

Will they come with an optional Flux Capacitor?

I want mine with a Mr Fusion on it

Does it fly?

Can it go faster than 88?

I wish them good luck. I always liked the look of the car and the fact that is was built from stainless steel -- if only my W126 was stainless...

However I think that they used to catch fire due to the shoehorning of the GM V6 into the car. I also wonder if these cars can pass today's safety standards. I know that was a real problem with the new Avanti sportscar.

Now THAT is a car I would love to have even if it is a Mustang under the skin.

they caught on fire due to freebasing...

The stainless steel is cool but I want the option where the bottom part is copper/upper part stainless. Easier to clean that way apparently, plus, stuff doesn't stick to it.
