Dream City

If you could live in any city in the US or Canada, which city would you pick?
I pick Salt Lake City, friendly people, great winter/summer sports, beautiful! Plus the film festival

San Diego

Or, if USVI counts, that's where.

I'm rather partial to Carson City, NV. However if money and available employment were no object, I might go for Reno/Sparks or perhaps Incline Village. Might be a little too much snow at that last one.

I haven't spent a whole lot of time at either place, but Boise, ID and Dillon, MT seemed pretty nice when I visited.

While I'm not a city type person by any stretch, I really do enjoy Boston so I guess I'd go with that. I'd still want to be somewhere with seasonal changes, although Boston doesn't exactly get a lot of snow. But there's just so much to do I'd make that concession.

As much as I do enjoy visiting and vacationing the warm climates I just couldn't live there for extended periods of time. That certainly could change as the years fly by.

I've moved away from Houston three times, and I gladly moved back each time. There is no dream location for me, I like change too much. But since Houston is "home", I guess that's my dream place.

If I was richer than dirt and single, then I would certainly keep a large house in LA. Nothing like living in LA when you've got gobs of cash...

Wherever I can find a 5-10 acre plot that I can turn into an off-grid compound and personal farm. Maybe something in southern Texas. Otherwise, I'm fine where I am.

I really like living in Lafayette Indiana. Small town feel with just enough big city amenities to keep this small town boy happy. Close enough to get to Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and St Louis easily if big city attractions are necessary. Great state parks nearby for hiking and camping.

I love visiting Chicago, San Francisco, Charleston Virginia, Savannah, New Orleans and many other places.

Other country citys I have visited and love include Quebec city, Montreal, Barcelona, Rome, Paris and others.

Cities I have not yet visited but really want to include London, Munich, Stuttgart, Athens and many more.

Individual places I would love to visit include Petra, Machu Piccu, The Great Pyramids, the temple complexes in Mexico, and Cambodia, Easter Island and others.

Things I wish maybe I had done but now am probably too old include Maccu Piccu and the apalacian trail.

My favorite places that I recommend include the Indianapolis Motor speedway museum, the Ford Museum and the Pantheon in Rome.

My all time favorite car is probably the '83 240d. Sorry couldn't resist.

X2 - I've been trying to find a farmette around here but the prices are insane.

My aunt is trying to sell her 11 wooded acres right now....the going rate is over 30k/acre.

I'm happy where I'm at - but San Diego or Salt Lake City is tempting.

Machu Picchu is definitely on my list of dream trips, so is an African Safari.

That's cheap to the builder who can make a home on every 1/4 acre or less.

I know....subdivide away.....my uncle (on the other side of the family) is a pretty aggressive builder too. He doesn't mess with woodland though - just pretty farmland.

I'd love to buy it from her, as it was my grandfather's land too. Sadly, I could only afford a small teepee if I bought it. It would be off the grid though.

They do amazing things with yurts these days.

Savannah, GA. One day when I retire, I will own a small 2/1 house with a little yard full of gardenia, jasmin and rose bushes. And a cloths line, I want a cloths line. And a hammock so my boyfriend can lay around and smoke his cigars and sip his scotch (after he mows the yard).
