If we have to blow it on something might as well be the military. |
An ignorant assessment of the duty of governments. You can add up the war costs all day. Inflate the cost of WWII and see what kind of similar comparison can be made. The ask yourself what is the cost if it DIDN'T happen.
Not to mention the war will be over someday. When have entitlements ever gone away? I would rather pay for an expensive short war rather than funding a whole generation of slackers for the rest of their lives. Not to mention that little thing called the Constitution. Uncle Sam isn't there to provide health care or bail your sorry ass out because you lied on your mortgage application. But comparisons like the video show the true nature of socialists. To put it is terms (albeit smaller) for this board, we could all take the money we dump on on toy cars and projects and just buy a small simple mode of transportation, and put the money we save to other uses (food, medicine). But then that isn't what being successful, capitalistic and American is all about, is it? Quote:

The cost? Bush might have started a war with the correct country instead of lying us into Iraq. Quote:

The government has to spend. It does not matter where it spends the money or how it gives it out. Well yes it does. The money is best given to people who will spend it, and entitlement programs guanrantee just that. Enterprising individuals will find a way to funnel that money into their pockets. Essentially the government is funding growth, and that's a good thing.

But, since you prefer to keep all the money.........and help nobody..........and fund no education programs..........and not assist anybody to purchase a house........and spend nothing on programs for the disabled, the infirm, or the mentally ill.........then, for you.........picture the benefit of an extra $6,500. in your pocket. Maybe that will sway your opinion. |
