The claimed weight of this new one is 1000 lb..........??

If they actually make that weight, it's less than 1/2 the weight of the Smart.

They claim the weight of this is 660 KGs while the smart is 730 which is not that far off. I was think about this day and concluded that the Smart and other vehicles like it are slightly safer than motorcycles and you won't get bugs on your suit on the way to work....save gas, stay dry and it wouldn't be a bad idea to wear a helmet.

I think if you are hit by an Excursion your toast whether your in an MB or Suburban....mass is mass

I'm thinking 0 to 60 in ten seconds is acceptable. Would be great around town. I risk my life on a bicycle all the time.

I have a wild idea to try to transplant a BMW 2.0 or smaller diesel into my 325i when the motor goes south. It's a great chassis, IMO, and much energy is expended in building a chassis and body.

The new BMW diesels are skookum.

This article has it at 450 kg:

Yep, about the only way you're safe in a collision with an Excursion is to drive something that says "Mack" on the front.

I got the 660 kg from their website, I don't think it matters once they add the features that we Americans have to have it will resemble a Hummer in size, mpg and price.

Yeah.........I'll bet they started at 450 kg and it's climbed up from there.........by the time it gets here it will be 800 kg. and cost $25K.
