Pool and back yard ready for summer!
Finally... I'm finished for now! My back yard and pool are ready for the Arizona summer.
My first project was to repaint the interior of the block wall that surrounds my back and side yards. That was a huge task! I rolled the entire thing myself. Three coats! It took me five days and 25 gallons of paint (and alot of sweat!).
My second project was to design and build an enclosure to hide/cover my pool equipment (pump, filter housing, etc..). Turned out nice. It even has a gate.
My third project was to resurface my pool deck. My pool (and deck) are only five years old, but new cooldeck stain looks so nice. The prep took longer than the application. The deck has to be super clean (presure wash), then acid etched, then TSP washed, then rinsed, dryed. It came out great! Looks like it did new!
The last item on my list of things that had to be accomplished before the summer heat hit was empty the water out of the pool. This has to be done before the temp reaches 90 to avoid cracking! This has to be done every two/three years because of chemical build up. This isn't as easy as it sounds because of my fu****g nasty HOA rules that says that I have to pump the water all the way around to my front yard and then into my sewage system! EFEM! I waited till the weekend when they weren't around and pumped it in the street like all my neighbors do. So now I have fresh new water in my pool.
I added four rock speakers and lots of landscape lighting last year so we're all set! Just bought a 1.75 of SKYY Vodka and some fresh Minutemaid lemonade. LET'S PARTY!
