Digioxin / Digitalis recall

Have not seen this in the news media. Seems to involve multiple brands. Some tablets could be double strength.

I got an email about it. I am still unclear what damage a double dose of a drug like this one could do (but i haven't googled and won't until someone calls about it). I think my wife represents one of the successor companies--if she knows anything about it I will post. Hope you aren't having to take this, man.

Yes, it's a heart medication. Powerfull stuff. My wife is on it. She got a call from the drugist that it was recalled. Brother in law got the same call. Still nothing in the news about any recall.

Is there an alternative drug for those who have been taking this one?

I don't know if there is an alternative or a generic. One of the published cautions is to avoid switching brands. In this case, the doctor said just to stop taking it until replacement product arrives, supposedly in a week or so. I think it is probably less dangerous to temporarily stop taking it than to accidentally take a double dose.
