Ah Yes... The same old story...
Another case of "More Money Than Brains" cleansing of the gene pool... Darwin would be proud...

Notice how the passenger compartment (or what's left of it) mostly stayed intact?

Don't think airbags would help that situation.. Yeah, I was noticing that myself. Like a separation pod.
I meant that I didnt' think they would have helped, seeing as they did deploy. Must have replied too early in the am or something.. not proofreading. Last edited by ImBroke; 07-19-2008 at 04:46 PM. |

both airbags did deploy, you can see them in the cabin pic... not that it helped... my guess is it hit the retaining wall at 130MPH... kinda went up in the air, and plummeted to the ground rolling and grinding to a halt... too bad the story didn't show the road, or an overhead shot of the carnage debris field...

Obviously occured at a high rate of speed. Bits and pieces of the car came apart to scrub off speed and absorb energy as they are engineered to do. The missing drivers door would have comprimised passenger compartment safety immensely.

If he had hit a wall the cabin would have compressed. I am betting money he came over a bump and caught to much air underneath the car.....

I kind of doubt he was wearing a seatbelt.

Quite some interesting comments. Not to make light of someone dying in a wreck but the one that said "DRIVING FAIL" was pretty funny.

He brought it on himself, I don't feel sorry for him. If you want to play you have to be willing to pay. If he wasn't willing to chance ending up like that he should have kept it under 80.
At least out their you are in the desert so you won't take anyone else with you.

hahaha..."failed".
Although I rarely find humor in the demise of others, people who are too stupid not to get themselves killed in such a fashion deserve the occasional jab, IMHO. I just hope he didn't take anyone with him.
