It's probably not being shown because there's nothing to show.
It's much easier to talk about potential problems with HRC supporters. I doubt the FBI or any enforcement agency is willing to become more open about any findings at this point. Nothing to see here... move along....move along. We may see more, but I'm not surprised we're not seeing much, now.

Is an assassination plot against any politician really news, or is it news because it makes Obama seem more Presidential?

It was on CBS last night during the wait for Michelle Obama's speech. I think it's not a bigger deal simply because of the convention, few details, and it's not the first assassination plot.
