Thoughts on this 300CE from craigslist?
http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/915328492.html
Lot owner said it starts and runs and drives fine until it gets warm then starts to die. Any ideas? Looks interesting I may go take a look at it. |

That sure is a nice looking cabriolet.
Check the coolant for chocolate milk/ oil in the coolant. Roll it to the nearest MB independent shop and have a compression /clt test done, maybe put it on the lab scope to find out what the deal is/ check for codes. |

Those don't have distributors right? But mine did that when the cap/rotor was bad. Maybe the air pump. Mine also does that, the pulley is on its way out, works better while it's running, of course.
But at 3'995, you can get a new engine and still make like 6 grand on it. Or keep it and say you saved a bunch. Check the carfax, too. Might have a bunch of accidents. There was one just like that in Bakersfield a couple years ago getting extensive bodywork done at, of all places, the Chevy dealer I worked at. |

That would be a price worth considering even with a dead engine. The 124 Cabriolets fetch a pretty penny. Just make sure it wasn't flooded with all the hurricanes down that way.
