No not even close, for this one you have to go to the north. The more common one was a two door.

1964 Mercedes 230 SL Pininfarina

clearly.. bundts and classic mercedes tail lights help narrow it down

The bundts should be bunted away; Incorrect and a little too contemporary.

Much better:

You are right, better with the hub-caps.

A classmate of mine from high school had one of those DAFs in his garage. The one with the more upright greenhouse. In that color too.

The only Dutch mass production car, billed out many times before bought by Volvo. Interesting car because of the transmission, no gears.

DAF

And yes it's a Bitter SC Saloon, nice.

It had a centrifugal clutch, right? Essentially an entry level riding mower with reverse. IIRC the shift lever had only forward and reverse positions. No park or neutral.

"This is the Variomatic transmission system of the DAF 33, including the rear wheels and the independent suspension system. Each rear wheel had its own homokinetic belt drive, this way the transmission also functioned as a self-locking differential."

They used them for backward racing in the eighties, same speed back or forward:)

DAF had it first.

Actually it is a concept which would not surprise me if it first surfaced way back when they used leather belts on cars!

Carleton would know if thats true.
