Who here eats, drinks or smokes in their cars?

Since this is a Mercedes site and we do drive Mercedes I was just wondering how many of you drink, eat or smoke in your Mercedes or other cars you own?

aklim 01-24-2009 12:37 PM

Eat and drink. Nobody smokes in my car unless they wish to eat the cigarette.

POS 01-24-2009 12:37 PM

I don't smoke, so that's out. All three of the Benzes are toys that I drive on pretty days, so I don't eat or drink in them. I have a daily-driving LS430 in which I will eat and drink, if I have to. Generally, I don't feel the need to eat or drink just for the hell of it while driving - I drive fast, so the fewer distractions the better.

WVOtoGO 01-24-2009 12:37 PM

Yes - But not alcoholic beverages.
Yes – We have Sonics down here. :D
No – Never. Not out of it either.

Mike D 01-24-2009 01:03 PM

Oddly enough, I smoke in mine but I don't allow eating or drinking. Yeah, yeah, I know but then I've never been accused of being logical.

iwrock 01-24-2009 01:48 PM

No, no one is allowed to smoke in my cars.

If we are on a roadtrip or something, then yes, we will eat and drink in the car.

For short trips, no food or drink allowed. I tried to let some people eat in it once, and found 3 firesauce packets under the seat....

The SL and G still smell like leather inside. The TE kinda does, but the C has MB Tex, and the 190 is my little sisters car.... She abuses it... Smells bad on the inside. :(

Skippy 01-24-2009 02:25 PM

Generally no to all three. On longer trips a water bottle will be present, and once in a great while I'll smoke in the 240 on a long enough trip.

Hatterasguy 01-24-2009 03:04 PM

Sometimes my buddy and I will take a 6 pack for the road if its going to be a long trip. Sadly there is no place to put my beer so it ends up sitting on the plastic behind the shifter, not on the wood...need a coaster for that.:D

I don't smoke, and I have told my friends that do if they try they will get a swift kick out of the car and be walking.

Ehhh? I remember all my 240's did enough smoking for the both of us!:o

andersbenz 01-24-2009 06:18 PM

six pack

A long, long time ago I used to measure trips by the amount of beer it would take to get to the destination.

Manchester, NH to Boston: 4 beers

Wilton (southern), CT to Boston: 12 pack.

Used to smoke a little and that helped on the long drives. Could roll with one hand:)

JordaanDMC-12 01-24-2009 06:23 PM

NO smoking EVER in my cars
Eating's cool, I drop a french fry or two sometimes but I always clean it up.
Drinking's all good because I need a drink with the food :D (no alcohol though)

SwampYankee 01-24-2009 07:38 PM

All of the above if you sub occasional cigars for cigarettes in all vehicles.

Fulcrum525 01-24-2009 07:41 PM

No Eating
No Drinking
NO Smoking
No Spitting
No Sharp belt buckles
No Dirty shoes

Am I getting anal yet?

Does it have anything to do with dirty shoes?

I used to smoke in my Benz every day, but we quit driving it to work when we got the Jetta. We smoke in that occasionally.

Drinks? Sure. Every trip. I mean every one.

Food only on long trips.

sd300td 01-24-2009 09:19 PM

guilty.

davidmash 01-24-2009 09:27 PM

If you smoke in my car I might slow down as I kick your ass out of my car. No eating either but I'll slow down for that offense. I have a sport bottle in my car with water. The kind you squeeze so I do not have to unscrew the top to drink.

C280 Sport 01-24-2009 10:22 PM

No eating
No smoking-Quit many years ago
No drinking
No muddy/dirty shoes
No painting your nails in the back of the E320 on the way to Florida(Its been done)
No making out- Caught my son and his girlfriend in the 420SEL and the C280:mad:

Why cant people just sit/shut up and enjoy the ride?:)

powerpig 01-24-2009 10:32 PM

No eating, no exceptions!

You can drink, as long as it's in a bottle with a resealable cap.

I smoke, but rarely in the car. Still trying to quit.

If you're female, clothing is optional! ;)

It took me a while to quit also. I regret smoking. Ever smoke I ever had.

86560SEL 01-25-2009 07:36 PM

I don't smoke, nor do I allow smoking in any my cars. Out of my very large family, I think my dad is the only one that smokes, so needless to say, he does NOT ride in my cars. None of my close friends smoke, but I still do not let many of them ride in my MB. :D The MB is a me only car I guess. I do not want anyone trashing it up. :D

I will eat and drink in any of my cars, except the Mercedes and its probably because it does not have cup holders.

mgburg 01-25-2009 08:12 PM

ANY soda has to have a screw-on top...the ONE and only time I didn't follow my own rule...I stopped at a MickeyD's and got a SMALL orange drink...set it on the floor on the passenger side...and the SOBin' cup falls over and dribbles about half its contents onto the floormat before I reach over for the next swig...I'm fickin' parked and the dang thing falls over!!!!

Boy, I didn't know how fast I could go from hungry to flat-out stupid mental over a 99¢ drink laying on its side. I don't think my burger has landed yet! Thank You GOD no one was within earshot of me as I cleaned that crap up...

BTW, no smokin' and the eating part disappeared with the burger...soda, water - NO ALCOHOL - with screw-on caps only...if the cap is off and you're talking, you loose the drink...I've yet to meet anyone that can drink and talk at the same time so it goes to fact that you're not respecting my rule and my ride...so "...no drinky for you!"

LUVMBDiesels 01-25-2009 09:00 PM

Guilty of drinking water and Red Bull during long trips. Also the occasional cigar if I start getting road weary nothing like Red Bull and nicotine to wake your @ss up! No eating except the occasional chocolate bar.

Cigars are always kept outside the window while lit :D

mwood 01-25-2009 09:31 PM

I just got back from a 500 mile road trip this afternoon and ate, drank, and smoked cigars! I used to never smoke in my cars but was driving down the 405 one day and a brand new Bently 4 door tank comes rolling past and the guy driving is smoking a stogie. I think "if he smokes cigars in a car that costs as much as my condo I can smoke in my Explorer". I got rid of the Explorer and the Benz is my daily driver which I also use for hunting and fishing, so yes, I smoke in it. I clean it at least once a week and it's always presentable though.

The Clk Man 01-25-2009 10:09 PM

Sometimes I eat and smoke and drive in my Clk 320 naked, am I a sick B$stard? Just asking.:eek::eek::D

x2.

DslBnz 01-25-2009 11:34 PM

It makes it so much easier to clean the interior of my car when nobody eats or drinks in it. Occasionally, I do bring along a water bottle. At least it can't do any damage if it spills. Woe be it to the poor soul that leaks a droplet near the shift gate of a 722.6x, though!

Also, if I ever caught anybody lighting up in my car....Yeah man, I'd likely speed up, pop open the passenger side door via a hidden remote and pitch them out the door via a lateral ejection switch (special custom-fabricated apparatus). This would result in a subsequent hanging while their bodies dangled about helplessly being bloodied along the tarmac while traveling at over one hundred ft per sec. ;)
This is assuming they wear their belts...Otherwise they'd simply get their brains squashed.

Anybody wanna ride?

E150GT 01-25-2009 11:47 PM

The other day I was cruisin on the highway smokin a camel, and I dropped it and it went under the seat where I couldn't get it. I pulled over as fast as I could to try and get it, but it was impossible. What did I do? I opened my water and poured it on the carpet! What could I do? Its still there too. My car is not nice so I suppose there's no reason to be anal about it. Now, when I do buy a newer nicer car, and I am saving for one, I probably will keep smoking and eating to a minimum.

pawoSD 01-26-2009 12:39 AM

In my car:

Dirty shoes: Banned
Food: Banned except on trips
Drink: Banned except on trips (and resealable containers only)
Smoke: Ultra Banned - I'll kick you out and try to run you down with the car...

My wife is pretty much the same way about her 300E. :D She's probably a bit more food lenient.

OldPokey 01-26-2009 10:25 AM

I like a good smoky garbage fire in the back to get the car warmed up and smelling right for the day.

TX76513 01-26-2009 10:32 AM

I guess anything goes in any of the vehicles. Something gets dirty just clean it -Jeeze their cars. With that said the consoles in Benz's sure do prohibit some activities on the longer trips:P My favorite compartment is the little drawer under the driver seat cushion:D

Dee8go 01-26-2009 11:10 AM

No, no, and no. No eating, drinking, or smoking in any of my cars!

aklim 01-26-2009 11:15 AM

A question. When we talk of eat, drink and smoke, are we talking of food, drink and tobacco products or other types of products? :D :D

X2. I made an exception just ONCE and that was for a neighbor I had to fetch from the hospital after open heart surgery, poor guy was starving and had me drive him to the deli for a sandwhich. Driving home, he nailed that thing so fast narry a crumb fell from his lips.

Yeah, but you still had a LOT to say about it . . . .

Dee8go 01-26-2009 01:51 PM

Smokin' some sausage . . . Yeah, that'd be okay, too.

That's (almost) impossible in a W220;)

My GF used to have a huge Cadillac. The first time she picked me up in it, all I could think of is all the things that were possible in that huge back seat.

Now some folks say it's too big and uses too much gas
Some folks say it's too old and that it goes too fast
But my love is bigger than a Honda, it's bigger than a Subaru
Hey man there's only one thing and one car that will do
Anyway we don't have to drive it honey, we can park it out in back
And have a party in your pink Cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back, oozing down the street
Waving to the girls
Feeling out of sight
Spending all my money on a Saturday night
Honey, I just wonder what you do there in back of your pink Cadillac

TX76513 01-26-2009 03:28 PM

126's are not lacking in backseats! Heck they even have an erotic look http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6532/dsc0330bd0.jpg

Yep, I thought of that song everytime we were riding in her car. It wasn't pink and the seats were leather, but it was king-sized!

Alas, none in there. She got rid of it shortly thereafter and bought a nice 126 instead.

Did you try out any of those thoughts in the 126? Come on. Don't keep us in suspense. :D:D Pictures, if you got them.
