A fellow bought a car from me and used Fedex.

He was happy with them. The driver was very careful when he picked up from me.

I used DAS to get my current 300D to me in upstate NY from Texas. The only problem was that the drop off point was in a really sketchy area of small city near me and the garage they dropped it off at was run by redneck zombie people I think. I paid for the extra insurance and didn't need it, all was well and it was shipped on the bottom rack too.

Das

I used DAS to ship my 560SL from Salt Lake City to Richmond VA. Cost $900.00 and they did a good job. The car looked disgusting on arrival but it was last Winter and they had to travel through some really bad weather. A wash and wax brought it back to gorgeous.

I would use DAS again. Extra cost for top load but not a big difference.

I love driving those W126 diesels too but I totally hate sitting on leather seats.

Well expedia says 2/6/09, SF - New Haven = $242, 7 hrs on US Airways

and 2-14-09, Orlando - SFO =$166, 8 hours non stop,

And I absolutely NEED to get Courthouse records out of Dade & Broward Co. out of Miami, in February, if I was there, having NO luck via phone and mail, this is uber important to me, so if I could borrow a car for that, for a day, when I got to Florida, then maybe I could bite.

No idea if anyone would front the diesel costs, or how long it takes from Conn to Miami if not in a hurry, I could do my own hotels, visit a few of you along the way, and maybe even try and blog it as I went.

That sounds like a good deal to me.

Then go for it, man. I don't know, but seriously I could do it faster than what I said above, I guess.

I just pulled those dates out of mid air --- is all. Obviously I couldn't get it down there to you by Tuesday, even if I started my traveling from out here today.

And I would need a day to get those records out of Miami afterwards and a car to go get them.

But 600 sounds like a pretty good deal to me though. Make sure it's inspected at both ends for damage and use, and the mileage is the same.
