$0.85 for a schmear of butter

Maybe they're going with the it's expensive therefore it must be good idea.

I thought it was free. They have the bagel prices listed, then in the corner it lists the "on the side" items.

At work here, they've started charging a nickle for each of the small condiments - butter pats, peanut butter, jellies, etc... :rolleyes: Friggen' 40 cents to add cheese to an egg!

I think it's a depression. Why not just charge .85 extra for the bagel and tell the customer the butter is free.

Order your bagel,take a butter knife out of your pocket,pop the cover and spread your butter on your bagel.

I've never heard of a charge for buttering a bagel before. Do they charge for toasting it too?

its just a sign of all the rising costs. I was at Freebirds the other day and they had a sign stating that cheese had more than doubled in price. They were still keeping the same prices unless you added extra cheese. At What-A-Burger, they charge 50cents for a piece of cheese.

Same thing here. It was the alst time I visited a bagel shop.

Price was listed 'Bagel w/ Creamcheese. For the simple reason that I don't want to bite both sides of the bagel at once (cream cheese squeezes out, esp on a toasted bagel) I requested to leave open or as they say "open face".

Yup, you're guessing right!

$1 extra charge, because they had to spread creamcheese on both sides of the bagel - as they explained !!

Other than that, I had no comment to make.
