Speed is addictive....even on skis!!
I returned last week from the FIS Speed Skiing World Championships, I finished tied for 16th/22 in the downhill category. I managed 173.89kmh (107.81mph), but felt I could go faster. What a track though, the big dogs in the unlimited category went 225kmh, and that's not even from the top!!

That's awesome! I wish I could do that!!
There's something about getting out there the first time, the adrenaline rush.... It sharpens your senses, because you perceive you're in a freakish battle just to stay ALIVE! So much fun. But after awhile, you may get desensitized.

There was this gnarly downhill RH turn, person went down, someone went down after, I tried to avoid the pileup and I went down too. Tried to get up and some skied over my left pole, then half a second later my right pole. Skied back down the hill got spare poles and finished the race. Sucked, I was bummed out and slowly finished the race. I went and got new poles today. Good thing they have a replacement program where if you break a pole in a race they get you one at a good price. Still cost me a bunch but a lot less than normal.

Kyle, I know the rush (well, half the rush). Ive taken my road bike up to 52.5 mph drafting a BMW and that is some serious $&#T! Going over 50mph on a road bike is an incredible experience, the pavement underneath you just blurs while your hunkered down riding on what basically feels like a large paper clip. 100mph on skis must be mind blowing the first time.

That's pretty cool. I didn't know you could go that fast?
I've done some pretty steep runs in a tuck, I've always wondered how fast I could go. bet not that fast though, I would probably **** my pants. Danny
