Maglites

Who here carries one in the car for... emergency purposes?

I was just given a 5 D cell one ... I think it is very useful for beating people with as well as shining light

I've got a small one somewhere. The brightest compact flashlight I've seen is my friend's SureFire..that one hurts.

It's a great weapon. After you beat the snot out of somebody, you can see your way out.

I carry the 3D cell unit in the truck, I've got a 2AA cell on the belt and both have been switched over to LEDs - DAMN BRIGHT TOO!

If I REALLY need light, then I whip out the 1.5 Mega-candala (sp?) spot and listen to the alternator keep up with the draw...

I have the full size Mag, but looking at some Xenons and LEDs, guess its time to trade up.

Mags are great lights. Look what emergency personal carry and you'll find a Mag light 9 out of 10 times. I've been a firefighter/paramedic for 25+ yrs and I've never had one fail. Be sure to get the right(Mag)light bulbs as the most common bulbs you'll find are only rated for only 4Cell and will have a short life. As for protection they Work very well- or so I've heard.

I've got a 6D one that I've had for years that I originally bought as an...emergency flashlight...back when I was driving trucks for our company. Occasionally in not-so-savory areas. In CT, unless you've got your baseball bag in the car along with your bat, the police tend to give you a bit of grief. But a 6D flashlight, that's obviously for...emergency purposes!

My wife bought me a 4D LED one for Christmas last year that I actually use quite often on the boat, as a light! Good light output and great battery life. It's a lot less unwieldy than the 6D, but then again, I don't rely solely on the 6D for...emergency purposes...anymore.

We have at least a two (D) cell maglite for each car. Truck has a three and I just got a four cell LED type for the garage. That guys hurts your eyes!
Not quite sure what the law would say about our cars. Frequently, we will have our Karate bags in the car. Heck, my son even has a sword or two in his bag.

Sabrelite diving light. It will blind you and is intrinsically safe.

my dad has two 6D's in his rig.. they are usefull for self defense. Reason why police dept's issued them when billy clubs were seen as a tool for "police brutality"...
