Computer speed verses ISP speed.
I have a question about ISP down load speed and ISP down load speed.
I currently have broad band cable and using speedtest.net I have seen speeds as high as 18MB and as low as 4MB. My question is this, even though the site says 18MB down load speed, is the computer actually down loading at this speed or is there a cap at what a PC can handle based on it's configuration? I am having U-Verse installed next week and I am getting the elite package which is capped at 6MB. I do some gaming on line (Joint Operations) and I am not sure whether or not the PC is actually using the down load speed to its advantage or if lets say it is capped at 5 MB and anything more is a waste. Is there a way to test what my PC can actually handle? Can I see what my game is actually using when I play? Thanks
