Talking Never thought I'd "dis" the 124's,,, but

I bought a 210 RWD wagon in December to replace my 95 124 wagon, and have been VERY happy with the "New" wagon, despite its' rust issues. Other than the rust, it has been the most trouble free used car i have ever bought, and I LOVE the engine and tranny combo. This week I bought my wife an 02 E320 4matic sedan, and the car is spectacular. The car has 76K on it, but it looks and drives like 10K. All the amenities over the 124's have my wife in sort of a tizzy. She said "that car is too nice for me", but she will get used to it and am sure she will enjoy it even more than her 400E,,, especially next winter. As far as rust on the 02,,, there is NONE. I put it on the rack, and pulled all the wheels to check the usual rust prone places and this car is rust free. Maybe at the end of the 210 run they figured out how to deal with the rust,,,, don't know. In summation though,,,, we love the 210's and would find it hard to go back to a 124 again.

Interesting. I've driven one 124, a gasser that was owned by an abusive driver. He had me run some errands for him in it once. I was utterly unimpressed, but that may have been due to a combination of that particular car being beat to shi'ite and the quality of the roads in Gulfport, MS at the time.

In addition to the cars in my sig, the only other Benzes I've driven were a couple of W108's, which I liked. I certainly wouldn't mind taking one of the newer models for a spin.

I like the W210 a lot, pretty user friendly to work on to.

Its good to hear encouraging words about the newer benzes.

I might one day decide I need a newer car.

I saw it as quite a big step to buy a W124.....I do like it, but it will likely be a looong while before I'm brave enough to go newer than that. (and the fact that I only want a diesel as my daily driver)

Smile E60 Renntech

This unobtrusive, sweet little 12 cylinder car as I saw it at the Mercedes Benz Classic Center USA in Irvine, California, a couple of weeks ago....

Apparently Jerry Seinfeld brought it in and told them to unload it, is the story I was told. I am looking under the sofa cushions for change and as soon as I can come up with $46k, I will grab this leetle sweetheart.

Make some money first and that will change.

Nah, once I make some more $$ I will be looking at a nice 80's 380/500/560SL or an SEC.... I'd rather have an interesting/nicer old one than one of the new ones....I want to be able to work on it, its one of my favorite hobbies aside from technology....

The only back end uglier than the W210 sedan is the W210 wagon!! Hideous creatures, which is too bad because I really like the front end.
I will never be brave enough to step into a W210 after all I have read on the forums. Between electronic issues and rust in various places, I simply fear them. Oh, and that butt.....

Doh!! What are you smoking!

Methinks.....210 envy...... Where do you get this stuff at, when you don't even own one?? You "simply fear them," LMAO!!! I think you fear their blinding speed, quickness, and price! Talk about "issues!"

I haven't had any "electronic issues and rust in various places," on my 10 year old W210 BOUGHT NEW!

What rust!? In Texas!?!?
