Just curious, does Texas smog Diesels? Here in Cali, diesels don't need to be smogged thank god, cause i'd fail, big time lol

Would hate to fail a safety inspection when I finally move there. They easy to pass?

How would any pre-CDI diesel ever pass an emission test?

Nope. Never have either. Neither my diesel motorcoach, nor my MB diesels. You get the required annual inspection, and it's cheaper by far than the gassers cost of inspection.

In Texas the property tax makes up for it, though. I pay an outrageous amount on my home. That is why I'm probably going to buy a cottage or bungalow on the Alabama Gulf coast one of these days. Dirt cheap property taxes, vs. Texas or Florida.

Your car has some serious issues that need to be fixed if you can't pass a 20% opacity limit, thats some THICK smoke! The average old diesel shouldn't be be any higher than 8-10%.
