Stupid Laptop Question

Pardon my ignorance, but should I remove my laptop battery when transporting the laptop? It won't be used for about 24 hours.

Then is there any limit to the time it can be static with the battery in?

Laptops are pretty much designed to have the battery left in them for the life of the battery (which could be anywhere from 1 year to 5 years depending on care and luck) Dont worry about leaving it in. The battery can handle any temperature or environment that the rest of the laptop can withstand.

I assume that you are shutting the machine down fully when traveling- you should. Laptops frequently use the windows "suspend" and "Hibernate" functions if you don't tell them to shut down via the start button- you'll want to learn up on this if you are not shutting the thing all the way down. Just be sure that the laptop is fully shut down before you take the battery out.
