Last big fish I caught was a 66" Tarpon. That, was exciting!

I got back into fishing about 14 years ago. I flyfish mainly or rather only. I plan to go back to PA in the next week or so. I like being on streams. Also, waiting for the hatch or bug or flies to land ot come off the water. All this makes sense if you flyfish. The worst day fishing is better than the best day at work. OK, may not if you worked for Victoria's Secret or Playboy or something like that, but you know what mean.

I used to lake and river fish a lot as a kid, did some tuna fishing with my father through my college years (mainly Albacore, not the giants) with a little bluefish and striper fishing scattered in between. Then came work, then marriage, then kids and my time disappeared. My oldest son and daughter have done some fishing with friends so we got them some new poles and stocked tackle boxes for Christmas and I'm hoping to get them more into it. It's very self-serving actually, I get them into and I get to go more!

I've even considered selling our cruiser and getting a bass boat, some very good fishing on the CT River which is a walkable distance away for me.

Fishing is a state of mind. Catching fish is coincidental.

I relax my best, floating in a boat, big floppy hat blocking the sun, line in the water and not a care in the world.

I do enjoy the adrenalin rush of having a large mouth bass strike my lure as it hits the water and the ensuing struggle to net the fish. I use ultralite rods and reels with 4 lb test for most of my fishing. It takes some work to bring in a 6 lb'er on 4 lb test. Have your girlfriend try that! Anybody can drag a fish out of the water using 10 lb test.

Now for catfishing, I use a stiff 6 foot rod, 10 lb test, a pillow, a bottle of whiskey and a surplus of fishing stories/lies. We go out about 10:00 PM, flop on the pillows, cast the bait, open the bottle, watch the stars and hone our fishing story skills.

63 lb halibut on a bass pole. I had caught so many fish that day I downsized for more fun. That was a lot of fun.

I spent a lot of time bass fishing as a kid, and kinda gave it up when I moved to Colorado. Not many lakes out there with access like in CT. Now that I'm back in CT, I have been fishing quite a bit more, and this year get to take my daughters with me. They are very excited, and the lake is right across the street from our house as well.

What's anyone's favorite bait/lure?
For me and bass, it's a fluorescent chartreuse floating rapala, 3 1/2" long.

Saltwater, I tend to rely on the old nasty sandworm. Don't get out to the saltwater very often though.

well it was fun while it lasted. my truck was broken into lastnight and they stole my tackle box. i lost about 400 dollars worth of equipment including lures that my grandfather gave me 12 yearago. so i guess it will be a while before i go fishing again as i can afford to buy new gear. its gonna be bad enough having the window replaced
