Anybody have a spare Miata 1.8 NB motor?

I ran a comp test on mine and its soft, so I am looking for one to rebuild or a good used one while I rebuild mine.

Don't have one myself, but I can point you towards an excellent source - cool old guy (my age + 1 or 2 ) and his kid are both spec racers, they buy wrecks & tear 'em down to fund their addiction. If Willy says it's a good engine, it's a good engine.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested in contact info.

A friend of mine knows the owner of www.aimtuning.com , which is in Indianapolis. He builds Spec Miatas, so he might have some engines or know where in Indiana to get one.

I found a nice 34K mile used motor at Veldmans auto parts in South Bend from one of the links provided here.

My nephew in law is the nephew of the owner of VAP and works in his family business Veldman's Auto repair. VAR will be putting in the motor for me after checking the compression, etc. (Another of his Uncles owns Tire rack.)

Its a handy family connection for a car nut like me.

I contested the autocross in Joliet at the route 66 speedway yesterday and then dropped the Miata off at VAR before coming back to Lafayette. They will put the new motor in for me this week.

I made it home before midnight (just) after leaving the house yesterday at 6 am.

Busy day.

I will have my favorite machinist rebuild my motor and will probably install it next winter my self....or may just keep it ready if the new one is good enough!
