No biggie. 20 years or 2000 years makes no difference. I doubt he will live that long.

Madoff gets all the attention, but what about all the others who skated? What about the regulators weho didn't regulate, or even investigate--even when people came and reported Madoff's questionable stuff TEN times? Shouldn't some employees of the USA federal g'ment lose their jobs because they failed to act?

At least the SOB will not be part of the free world for the rest of his miserable life.

Next they need to go after the family and other business partners.

So the guy gets three hots and a cot for the rest of his life. Some of his investors are going to end up with a lot less than that. I think he should have to live in a box on Wall St. and depend on passersby for his meals. It will be a much better example to the rest of those greedy bastids who might otherwise try their hands at a similar venture.

Considering the lifestyle to which Madoff had become accustomed, living in a suburban middle-class ranch house and driving a new Chevy Impala would be sufficient punishment. For cruel and unusual punishment, make him buy his wardrobe at Sears.

While serving his time, why not put him to work sniffing out fraud for the SEC? Surely they could put his financial competency to good use.

IMHO, Madoff is merely the tip of the iceberg. there will be more of his kind to come, you can count on it. and there will be more people willing to part with their hard earned $$$$$ to these leeches......it is called GREED. a scammer on the scale of Madoff tends to undermine consumer confidence in the markets which impacts the entire economy.

stripe suit will be enough....i wouldn't be surprised if the SOB had a heart attack in the big house followed by a dirt nap.

Serious overhaul is in order at the very least. Regulators could probably use more resources and power.

Mitt Romney is of another mind on that one. As is Reaganomics in general.
