Craigs List Lexus - another scam
Car is priced about $10K below market. This is a scam. He is Gresp32@gmail.com. Wonder why Craig's List cannot stop this:
The car is still available and the total price for 2006 Lexus RX 330 is $3,900, shipping included. The vehicle is located in Manheim, PA and it has 43,200 miles. It’s in excellent plus overall condition, no accidents, very clean in and out and well kept. Drives, Looks and Runs Great. TITLE IS IN HAND so the transfer of both title and vehicle will provide a smooth transaction. I’ve secured my sale and I will use eBay to finalize our deal, because it protects both buyer and seller. They act as third party in our transaction - basically, they keep the money until you get/test drive the vehicle and the documents. You have 7 days to inspect the car and I get paid after you make sure everything is as agreed. If you don’t like the car, no question asked, the payment is 100% refunded by eBay. The vehicle is ready to be shipped, as I am looking to sell it in a timely manner for my investment and at this price it’s not going to last on the market for long time. If you agree moving forward with the deal through eBay, please get back in touch ASAP. Many thanks, Greg |

Copy the title of the CL posting and Google it. You can often find the exact same ad appearing in multiple cities.
A friend replied to buy two Seadoos listed for $5500. They were worth about $11K. I replied to buy a Mastercraft wakeboard boat for $5000. It was worth $20K. And then there was the 2007 Bennington pontoon with a 225 HP Yamaha. Listed on CL for $27K. I knew a boat like that cost between $55K and $70K new. I was sure it was another scam and didn't respond. A month after seeing the ad, I saw the actual boat at my favorite marina. The owner told me he found it on CL. It was repo'd and he got it for $25K. The debtor owed $55K on it. I was sick.

other places too
There are a bunch of horse trailers with the same type of scam. One was listed locally, I asked to visit it first. "Oh, it is being stored in Montana and will be shipped to you...."
Ask to see it in person and see the title in person. Any other suggestions for qualifying questions to prove the person has the item? Additional pictures? |

Most the scams are very poorly put together. They are universal in nature now.
You must of heard of the newer mercedes convertable on craiglist for 100.00? The guy saw the add and discounted it as a typographical error. Curiosity eventually got the better of him so he called. The lady that answered the phone said it was true. Why not drop by and if you like it fine. Nothing else going on after supper so he drove over. She pulled back the cover and there it was. He verified with her the price was 100.00 and thought I will at least have it a few days until repossesed or whatever. So he handed her the money and got the title. As he was backing out of the garage curiosity was too much for him again. So he asked why so cheap? Well my husband ran off to mexico with the office girl a month ago. Phoned the other night and told me to sell his mercedes and send him the money. |

another thing to consider is alot of these scams could be stolen cars with fake titles so be careful or other wise might have the cops at your door arresting you.
