Sorry I haven't talked to you lately but I had a heart attack on Monday morning
Yep, it's true.
This will be a short note. Recuperating at a friend's house since I live alone. Came into the ER Sunday night before it hit, thinking it was a severe gastric pain the second time (more on this later). Fortunately, my health benefits kicked in fully the day before! So it was all covered. Prognosis: minimal blockage which was removed minimal damage, need some recovery time and rehab but should be better than I was. However, this will cause me to thin the herd and sell all my MB diesels except my one 240, and two gas-powered 220 cars form the sixties. I have interest for some and had promised photos and that person has some choice first, but there's enough for everyone. I had planned on scaling down and getting property for a small outbuilding to to tinker within a couple years, and was moving in that direction. I will keep one 170D, one 220 from 53 and my 240D driver. The rest will go whenever a buyer shows interest. Photos when I can in a couple months. I still have my Citroens so it'll be the MBs and the couple Cits. More to come soon, but this is abnout all I can do today, am supposed to walk a certain amount, sit, walk etc under supervision so gotta go. If you do not have my cell number, use the message system here, all will be answered albeit slowly by typical standards. Curiously enough, many of my friends called when they found out, including a gf I hadn't heard from in 10 years who wanted to know if I would still be able to have sex (acc to doc, yes, but not this week, obviously). My question was: Why did she wait 10 years to ask???? ![]() All the best, S

Jeeezuz. Hope you recover quickly. Are you selling because you'll need to limit your future activities?

"Minimal blockage that was removed"? A stent?
Take recovery slowly. Especially in the heat. Been there...done that. ![]() Enjoy each day. Keep positive thoughts. No pity parties allowed. Good luck. |

Damn man, sorry to hear that! Hope you get back to your new and improved fighting strenth soon!
Stuff like this is precisely what prompted me to try to get myself in better shape sooner rather than later since there is a family history of heart issues on my mother's side. She's one of the healthiest eaters and is very active yet still needed blood pressure medicine. I know genetics have a lot to do with it but I didn't want to push it. But I digress, hope you have a speedy recovery!

Glad you're okay. GL on a speedy recovery. Very fortunate on the health benefits thing. Remember to replenish that karma when you get better.

strelnik,
I don't know you, nor you me. But we now have something in common. I had one on Sept 30 2007, a date I will remember as long as I'm here enjoying this crazy world. My attack at 52 years of age was a wake up call. Since then, I've made some dramatic lifestyle changes, and feel much better thanks to the changes. Think about the important things in your life, and do your best to maximize & enjoy them. A heart attack is a great way to learn to focus on the big picture. David in MD |

Wow, so sorry to hear that ... but glad you were able to get to the hospital in time. I hope your recovery goes well ... and hope you can find good homes for your cars. I'd take one off your hands but I think my parents would not be pleased to come home and find the old car population has grown in their driveway.
If you get bored or frustrated during recovery/rehab time, you can always come chat with us. ![]()
