I would be tempted by that R75, I liked the commando when it was new but I've lost interest in them.

Get a 996, my friend almost bought one for his first bike. Than decided he didn't want to die because we do not have bike friendly roads around here.

But the 996 is sweet, I took it around the parking lot a bit, had a race clutch and exhuast on it. Sounded amazing and it went like hell when you got on it. I didn't care for the race clutch though, it was very light and engaged fast so you needed to give the engine some revs and let it out and go, would have sucked bad in traffic.

i've got a 2000 r1100rt-p and love it to no end.but i will say if you are under 6 foot i'd look at something shorter.i'm 5'11 and it's a stretch to plant both feet on the ground.the k will be the same way.my old 78 r100s was perfect.

My wife and I traveled across the country on a 74 H2. Clip-ons, Bassanis, and a port job. It would surge violently at 60-70mph cruise so you could never keep a constant speed. It sounded like the devils chain saw at full throttle. I've had many faster bikes since but nothing even remotely as evil.

A Ducati dealer is opening near me in March. Should be interesting. I've read that the 996 is near torture, so that wouldn't work well for long trips.

My ultimate bike would have to be a late 70s 100s with a bit more modern of dual sport tires on it. I had a Honda CB400F that was actually a pretty decent starter bike, torquey and would pull the front tire off the ground in 2nd from a rolling idle if you weren't careful.

My ultimate fantasy bike is the '75 Zeeeeee1b in the garage.

I passed on them back in the day cause I was getting married in 76 and didn't want the extra year of payments. So I got the 750 4x twin in 76

. I'm guessing '75 was the last year for the aforementioned beastly H2.

Picked up the 903 a few years ago. Original candy apple blue.9,600 miles.
Any interest?

I found it comfortable enough, but it is a sport bike.

Its the bike equivalent of a Ferrari or Lambo.

I've always been tempted to pick up a M900, I really like the look of naked bikes better than plastic sport bikes.

I wished I lived in a more rural area where I could actualy enjoy a good bike. Around here the roads are just to nuts; all it takes is someone texting in the SUV next to you to run you off the road and kill you.
