I thought I had heard of everything until today's Spring training game between the NY Yankees and the Atlanta Braves.
The Yankees have a 24 year old relief pitcher named Pat Venditte who switch pitches. He can pitch right AND left handed. Currently, he's playing at the Class-A level. If he makes the majors it will be the first time in history that there's a switch hitting pitcher. He uses a special 6-fingered glove that has a thumb on each side. Weird!

I saw this once, he was high school though, it was on the news long long time ago.
Had a guy played quarterback on our high school team, he could throw left or rightie. He was better rightie, although as I recall he had a lot more distance leftie. The best like that was a summer bowling league. Had a kid, he was 18, pretty good low 200s. One guy on our team bet him he couldn't beat him leftie, he took the bet and kicked butt. The kid admitted he really was on track that night leftie, had 2 220s and a 210. What happened is he grew up in a bowling alley, and broke his right arm, so he learned to bowl leftie.

Greg A. Harris was a fairly well-known switch pitcher in the 80s, although he didn't do it in a game until the 90s, for the Expos IIRC. Bert Campaneris also did it for the A's, in a game where he played all nine positions including pitching left- and right-handed.
The Braves had one in their system about five years ago I think; he never made the majors. I know there's another one that's slipping my mind. Most teams are reluctant to let a guy do it, even if he can. Most of Harris' teams wouldn't let him, mainly because the need never really came up ... it would have been more of a stunt than anything.
