Talking Chinese Justice

Demands of Kidnapper & CHINESE Negotiators

'I have 3 demands or I'll kill the boy!'

Negotiators assess the situation from next door.

Head Negotiator dispatched

Negotiations begin

Negotiations concluded

They probably spent $0.35 cents.

  • In our country, we would shut the street down for 48 hours.
  • Take 12 hours to talk him out of it.
  • Spend $5 million giving him a fair trial.
  • And pay his food and lodging for life.
No wonder their products are cheaper than ours!!

END OF STORY .......

I think the same techniques that bring you short and sweet negotiations such as those above also bring you Tiananmen Square. Freedom is not always quick or cheap. Personally I'll take the US version over the Chines version any day of the week.

Freedom has nothing to do with it. He was a common stinking criminal and he got exactly what he deserved.

I think you need to re-visit your civics class curriculum. The US is governed by laws which all must follow. One of the tenants is that we are all entitled to a trial. Whether a person is guilty or not they are still entitled to that trial.

Freedom has everything to do with it. China is not a free society. That is why they can do to their people as they wish with no consequence.

We can chew up and spit out babies "...'cause we have the right to our own bodies..." but we HAVE to warehouse and babysit 5hit-can cretins for the rest of their stinking lives "...'cause we are a sympathetic country by our nature..."

HEY! CALIFORNIA! How's that tab on Chucky Manson going? How 'bout that fun family, the Menendez Brothers?

The cretins that have been convicted...we still continue to pay for them...those three alone don't have a chance in hell of being released because of some "untested DNA material" that's yet to be discovered or...yet we continue to worry about their health and whether the ones we finally do put a needle to are "...being deprived of their right to be handled without 'cruel and unusual punishment' in the carrying out of their sentences..."

Our system of punishment is so screwed up that it's no wonder folks take a certain amount of perverse joy when they see what happens when the lawyers are taken out of the picture (and in many cases, it should be just as it was in this case), and a simple "GO!" is all that's needed in the earpiece of the S.W.A.T. Team member.

When it's obvious that someone else is going to die, take out the obvious.

No arrest.
No booking.
No warehousing 'til a trial.
MORE IMPORTANTLY - No Trial, no attorney fees, no anything.
One call to the coroner.
One bodybag.
On-scene cleanup.
Repaired window.
THE VICTIM IS GIVEN Medical/Psychologic help...free of charge.
The body is given to any family member that wants to deal with it.
Close the book.

Then next time?

It may not happen.

Or...

Then you get to start all over again.

It's human nature.

Chinese government decides it wants to build a dam. In the way is a village of a few hundred. They bring in bulldozers one morning and tell everyone to pack up and leave. Those who protest are hauled away and never seen again. Quick and easy in the best interests of the state. Cost them maybe $10,000 total.

Over here it would have gone to court, delays would have cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars, the state would have had to deal with each lawsuit individually, and when all of that is said and done the damn tree hugging liberals would file suit, then the ACLU, then the wolf sanctuary, followed by whoever wanted to file suit. End cost, $19M dollars in legal fees, but people who want to grow lawns in the dessert win out eventually.

Let me know how you feel hen they come to take your house away for a freeway.

I think it's funny how laws are always inconvenient when they do not pertain to you (general population) but when it does apply, they you (general population) are screaming.

Freedom is not free (or even cheap) nor is it easy. China's government does not have to worry about laws protecting anyone's rights nor do they need to be concerned about a fair trial, protecting rights or other pesky things.

I for one do not mind paying for the likes of Manson, Menendez or all the others. I have no interest in living in China or any country which is as unconcerned about human rights.

You guys can always move to a country that follows your concept of justice. You're gonna not change anything here.

I thought my position was made clear at the end with that remark about desert lawns.

Guys guys guys,

He's posting this in Australia! The land down under with censored internet that silences the dissenting minority, no true free speech, and a host of other problems that make DHS look like heaven.

Besides I am quite happy to spend $5 million dollars to ensure that an innocent man does not get put into jail.

If you really want to end the problem with our prison system why not get sane drug laws and end this war on drugs? Oh wait, I forgot. There is a lot of money to be made in a police state.

I for one am grateful there are still people that respect the rights and liberties given to me. Thank goodness they don't think like some of you guys

There is no doubt as to who. There is no doubt as to what.

This one should have been ended a LONG time ago.

The government solved the problem without being accused of violating any individual rights. Maybe Communism is the way to go? Seems to be working quite well for the Chinese anyway.

What problem did they solve? One small step for their over-population problem?
I think the Chinese violate the rights of their people on a regular basis.

As long as China is a good business partner to trade with - who cares? I'm in business to make money - not social engineer anyone - especially anyone on the other side of the globe. If Communism makes it easier for me to make OR save a buck over here - it's none of my business anyway.
