Who enjoys cooking?

So I just discovered that I enjoy cooking. Throw it into the mix of cars, computers, music ,and wood work.

I just made this great pan seared steak with home made mashed potatoes and this awesome salad with a goat cheese vinaigrette.

I'm hungry thinking about it now, ugh!

I'm noticing a trend with the creative stuff here.

A couple weeks ago I planted some herbs and four varieties of tomatoes out on my balcony. I'll soon incorporate some of my harvest into my meals. I love caprese salad and sandwiches, so hopefully my basil performs well. Now, if only I had a mozzarella tree...

I didn't even knew where the kitchen was till I was 40 ish Since then... this is one of my passions. Not very often but when I make something the overall comments are very positive. I was told by a close friend and her son that this was the best meal they ever tasted so I cooked few more times for them and every time was the same. 10 years ago I would laughed if someone even sugested that I will cook some day and enjoy doing it. life is strange some time....in a good way

I sure do...

I really enjoy cooking... and do so frequently for our little family of 3. Recently I started baking bread and really, really enjoy it as well - one of my few passions.

I am an occasion cooking enthusiast, but a more frequent eating enthusiast. I did just finally upgrade to a gas cookstove, electric stoves are the main reason I didn't cook as much before.

I've been spoiled with a gas stove at my house, at IC though all of the stoves are electric.

I'm almost tempted to just buy a dual gas stove for my apartment next year. Environmental health and safety would love that.

It actually works pretty well.

I think the longer you tinker with Benzes, the more you become conscious of quality. That translates into quality of life which means, food, your job and other things.
You start trying to become a better person.

And you want better food than the factory slop in packages so you start to improve what you eat by doing it yourself.

Kinda like how we treat our cars.

Love it !!

With a gas grill I become Justin Wilson "I gar-on-tee ! "

Living in Texas for over twenty five years I still haven't mastered the art of barbecuing with wood ..................

unless of course you like "blackened" cuisine !!

I am infamous for ruining things of beauty in the kitchen. Even simple, elegant things, like an unsuspecting pizza, can be hastily profaned by my slipshod, 'git'r'dun' ways.

Occasionally, I try something ethnic / cultural and it comes out pretty good..... for a white guy.

I only like cooking when the ingredients I imagine using are on-hand, the kitchen is mostly clean, and there is no one telling me what to do.

I have always been able to cook, but not very enthusiastically. A few years ago, I went on a diet where I had one regular meal a day. I decided to make it diner. So, I'd ask my bride, " What are you planning for diner, tonight?" Her reply was ofter along the lines, " I don't know; I'll throw something together." I explained, oh so gently, that when you are having only one real meal a day, its got to be better than " I'll throw something together."

Since that time, I regularly make diner. Last night, for instance, I defrosted a boneless chicken breast and did a honey-glaze stir fry. I thought we had some stir fry veggies, but alas, no. So it became broccoli- chicken stir fry. Then I spied the remains of some pineapple from the previous evening, and chopped up some of that and added it to the mix. Pineapple-Broccoli honey-glazed chicken stir fry.

I enjoy creating stuff based on what's available.

Depends on what it is. I hate chopping salad stuff, but love grilling or frying meat and veggies.

I'm the same way. I usually end up baking more than cooking because of the tasty reward.
